The story of our wedding

We met at the wedding of our two roommates who were marrying each other. In all the time they had dated, we had somehow never run into each other. He asked for my number and to my surprise, I gave it. A few years later he takes me to Main Street Newmarket and in the Winter Wonderland, presents me with a custom gold and diamond ring of vines. I have never cried so hard. That's when a photographer jumped out and I was thrilled to know each second was captured! Planning our wedding was delightful and enjoyable. We knew what we wanted. We met because friends, surrounded by friends and we wanted our special day to be the same. We wanted to let them in on a special day, but also give them a taste of our relationship. We love the outdoors and chose the venue of a flower farm that we love. We also chose to do a lot of DIY because the bride loves florals and chose to get some of it from the flower farm they were married at as well as foraging other greenery. We combined our written vows with timeless ones to personalize it. I found myself crying through the whole ceremony as every part was meaningful and done by our friends. We danced beneath a chandelier we made ourselves to our perfect song. The crowning glory of the day was the gigantic charcuterie board our friend made for our guests. As a couple, we love to make one on date nights and so it was so special that we could share this with our guests. The tables were filled with mini trees cut by a groomsman who is an arborist, flowers, and fruit. We wanted there to be colour and for it to feel bountiful- like they are sharing in a feast. We chose buffet bbq to eat because we LOVE it and we wanted something different from typical wedding food. After the kindest speeches that made everyone feel loved and valued, we danced our hearts out. A friend DJ'd and it was AMAZING. I kept my expectations low but it ended up being better than I could have ever imagined. I would go back and do it all again!
