Best Experience

Our experience with Cambridge Mill was flawless from start to finish. From our first meeting with Dalton, to the rehearsal dinner, and of course our wedding day with Madison. The care and attention to detail was outstanding. The food was fantastic, the grounds are beautiful for your photos, and the Pavilion is the most gorgeous place for a wedding ceremony. If we could do it again, we'd pick Cambridge Mill every time.

Amazing!!!

We toured a bunch of venues but The Cambridge Mill surpassed all of our expectations, not only for how gorgeous the venue is, but from the responsive service, personable staff, inclusions and flexibilities in the packages and the overall value in the price, they absolutely won us over as soon as we walked through the doors. I can't wait for our wedding day!

If I could give 6 stars, I would!

You will never regret booking your wedding at the Cambridge Mill! Yes, you might have sticker shock after seeing the price, but the value you get for the service is so much higher than what you pay. The staff are so incredibly attentive to you throughout the whole night, it’s like having a wedding planner. Anything you need from them, if within their power, they’ll do for you. The food is amazing, the drinks are amazing, the staff are so kind and efficient, the venue is stunning…I could go on. And if you’re worried about another wedding happening the same night, don’t. When searching for the perfect wedding venue, I had a few key requirements—our dogs had to be part of the ceremony, I wanted a day-of coordinator to ensure everything went smoothly, amazing views, and, of course, delicious food. Cambridge Mill checked all those boxes and more!

Cassidy’s attentiveness and care truly made me feel like I was in the best hands. The feedback from our guests has been fantastic, and many of them have already said they’ll be returning to Cambridge Mill for dinner because the food was just that good.

Amazing venue and amazing people

During the beginning stages of wedding planning, on a whim we decided to make an appointment and drive down to Cambridge from Markham to take a look at some wedding venues.
We had no intention of settling down on a venue quite so soon (in 2022) for a spring 2024 wedding but Cambridge Mill blew us away. The view was spectacular, it had a European feel and overlooks the Grand River. We didn't want a typical city vibe or banquet hall, we aimed to find something scenic, rustic but also cozy and this venue hit all the marks.

During the beginning stages of wedding planning, on a whim we decided to make an appointment and drive down to Cambridge from Markham to take a look at some wedding venues.
We had no intention of settling down on a venue quite so soon (in 2022) for a spring 2024 wedding but Cambridge Mill blew us away. The view was spectacular, it had a European feel and overlooks the Grand River. We didn't want a typical city vibe or banquet hall, we aimed to find something scenic, rustic but also cozy and this venue hit all the marks.
Megan was the first consultant that we spoke with, she gave us a tour of the grounds and possible room options that would fit our estimated guest count. We instantly loved the Falls Room & Solarium as it had the best views.
She showed us all the available packages and patiently walked us through the differences, we were able to customize to a certain extent as well. Overall we had really good feelings about Cambridge Mill by the end of our meeting.
What really solidified the decision was the FOOD! We decided to grab lunch at the restaurant that same day and we were blown away - we tried the salad, burger, pasta and carrot cake. We tried to look at other venues after including 2 other Pearle properties such as Spencers and Ancaster Mill but they couldn't even be compared to the hospitality we received at Cambridge Mill.

Shortly after, Megan moved into a new role and we hopped on a details call with our new co-ordinator - Amie. We were a bit worried as we had already laid down the ground work with Megan but everything worked out well. All of our notes and plans were seamlessly carried over to Amie and she understood what we wanted without any issue. Working with Amie made wedding planning so much easier - she gave us insightful feedback regarding our timeline, provided good suggestions and was genuinely excited to see it all coming together. We liked the flexibility and making modifications wasn't stressful, she would always make time to speak with us with her tight schedule. All in all, the planning leading up the the wedding went well and they accommodated out of the box requests (ie. early onsite picture, setting up a Bubble Tea Bar, Ramen Bar set up, and Chinese Lion Dancers).

We had our tasting scheduled 2 months before the wedding in January and we were allowed 2 additional guests to join us. The food was good as we expected and it was really tough to choose only 1 appetizer for our guests. Danielle was our server that day, and she was so amazing and we had a great time chatting with her. We put in a bunch of notes and she reassured us the chef will review everything. We also talked about signature drinks in a purple colour and she said she and they had some ideas in the works. Honestly I didn't think she would remember us, given how there are so many events happening at the Mills. Mid March we went to the Mills to drop off decorations and speak with Amie, on our visit we bumped into Danielle who was working a wedding, she remembered us and we got talking about the signature cocktail again - she said she had an idea and wanted us to try it out. Moments later she brought the prettiest purple drinks for us to try and they were tasty too. I was personally very touched by that gesture and that's how we decided on one of our signature cocktails. Luckily for us she was going to be working with us on our wedding day! We also bumped into Robin the chef, we got talking and then it clicked - he immediately said "hey, you are the couple with the ramen bar!", it was fun seeing everyone get excited about our big day!

About 2 days before the wedding there was a small misunderstanding regarding the wedding party arrival time for photos with the front desk which caused some stress as it would push back our first look. Luckily, the situation was resolved on the same day and they were extremely apologetic about it. They also provided additional space so both team groom and team bride could take photos without crossing paths.
On rehearsal day we were greeted with a winter storm near the end of March - however Stephanie welcomed us happily. We went through the schedule together, confirmed some details and walked through the whole ceremony process. The rehearsal itself was very straightforward, the only issue was the heat in the Pavilion was turned off so it was really cold. However she reassured us that it will be warm and toasty on the day of! The whole team was so accommodating, they set everything up and our group went in and finalized the details.

On the wedding day, Stephanie and Danielle were our main contacts and they were so wonderful to work with, I had actually forgotten my letters that I was supposed to read during my first look, instead of delaying it and waiting for someone to run to my hotel, Stephanie got it printed so there wouldn't be delays. It was a windy and cold spring day, while I was making my way from the main building to the Pavillion during the ceremony, Danielle and the manager held massive umbrellas that would shield me from the wind ensuring my hair wouldn't be messed up and I wouldn't freeze too much, I thought that was such a kind gesture on their part. The team worked quietly and very efficiently, they moved all our ceremony pieces to the reception spaces seamlessly and rearranged the Solarium to fit all our late night eats.
Speaking about the food, the kitchen staff nailed it from H'or D'oeuvres down to the late nights! We didn't know what kind of hot/cold Hor D'oeuvres we would get - it's the chef's choice per the package we got. Let me tell you, they put together Asian fusion finger foods and it was a hit with our crowd of predominantly Asian guests. The baos, dumplings, pinwheels and the crispy chicken was everything I would have ever wanted - yet we never voiced it out. So we were really impressed.
The dinner was delicious - I know I'm being biased as we picked the menu items but I'm still amazed how good the food was - we had butternut squash soup, garden salad, stuffed chicken or steak and a chocolate hazelnut mousse. The soup was perfect in every way, sweet and hearty which was ideal for the cold weather. We loved the pears in the salad, but the wow factor was the entrees. They were HUGE portions - the stuffed chicken breast was our favourite, so juicy and tender and flavours of the mushroom sauce and goat cheese stuffing complimented each other nicely. In our tasting notes we asked to have a green veggie for some added colour and they brought out Chinese broccoli - I was mind blown. I was literally expecting zucchini but this was much better than I expected. Most of our guests were surprised to hear we chose a venue in Cambridge instead of back home in Toronto during the planning stages. Needless to say our guests were blown away by everything - the venue, the view and the food. They said "Oh I see why you chose this venue now!" and they are still raving about the food and how amazing it was to this very day.

Overall I highly recommend Cambridge Mill to all couples looking for a venue, their team is amazing to work with and the people are so genuine.
I'm really hoping someone from our friend group will get married there, as I would personally love to attend another event at Cambridge Mill!
