September wedding 2023

Georg and his team went above and beyond anything we could have ever imagined. The ease of planning and his organization is the best in the business. Venue is stunning and would recommend to anyone wanting to get married with as little hasle as possible while also making your day feel luxurious and 0 stress. All inclusive package for up to 100 guests is so budget friendly and a perfect wedding.

Disappointing, lack of attention to detail, and made us feel like a nuisance

We unfortunately had a very frustrating and disappointing process with the Guisachan house. It all sounded like a stress-free dream, but there were many frustrations we encountered. There were so many details that were not executed well, or were far from what was promised. The greatest frustration was trying to communicate clearly with George, and to try and figure out the mixed messages we were receiving. He was very quick to say yes to everything, but when it came down to delivering, he simply did not, or it was different from what was asked or promised. The Guisachan house does things a very specific way, they don’t necessarily work with you if you’re wanting something more unique and personalized. If you want the details, please find them below:
- The cake did not look like the pictures I submitted and looked very ‘amateur’, my maid of honour had to advocate to take off all the lavender and foliage that was sticking out randomly that did not go with the simplistic modern aesthetic we were wanting. The colour was also completely off and the whole cake looked messy and unprofessional.
- One of the main entree items that we chose during the tasting was replaced with a different entree, which is not what we chose. If there was an issue with the entree chosen and promised, we would have appreciated it being told to us ahead of time, instead of having it come as a surprise, and having it already printed on the menu.
- The vegetables were very undercooked, and the rice and potatoes were not seasoned. Other guests mentioned this as well and said they couldn’t eat it. The salad was swimming in the dressing.
- The flowers also did not align with the colour scheme or even close to the photos and colour swatches that were asked of us and that I took great care in providing. When I saw the bouquet the day before, I told George that I didn’t want any pink flowers and he was able to change my bouquet, but kept the pink flowers for the bridesmaids. The flowers were not fresh, and were discoloured even early in the day.
- We were promised 2 corsages for our mothers, but there were none on the day. It was mentioned we could just pin a boutonniere on their dresses, but pinning a very heavy boutonniere (Which were much too big) on a delicate material dress does not work well.
- They ran out of punch at ‘cocktail hour’, and switched to water. Guests were denied any other kind of drink/beverage during that time, even when offered to pay for it.
- They took down the chairs immediately after the ceremony, but there was no alternative seating for guests before dinner. Many of our guests cannot stand for an extended amount of time.
- During the reception, the dinner music volume was not well managed. It was at times way too loud, and blasting over the speeches. The microphone and sound system was very poor, and most of the guests (especially on the veranda) could not hear the speeches at all. We had around 65 guests.
- My dad prepared a photo slide show, and went to the venue to test it on the house system 2 weeks before the wedding. George did not know how to work the system and his daughter was not available. My dad and groomsmen had to troubleshoot the system, the day before and even on the day of the wedding with little to no help from staff.
- We were promised a power extension cable and an aux cable for the dance music to connect to the house speaker system, but neither were there on the day of and had to be requested again.
- My mom had asked for the empty glass jars in the main corridor (not being used for our wedding) to be removed. She had to ask multiple times for the staff to finally remove them.
- My questions about timelines during the tasting were brushed off and I was told that I didn't have to worry about that, and we couldn’t continue that conversation.

- At the rehearsal, George mentioned that he was glad that he’ll never get an email from my husband again. He wrote only 2 emails, the second one was only sent to follow up, since we didn’t receive a response from the first. The impression we got from George was that he was going to be happy to get our wedding over with and never have to hear from us again.
-We were trying to work with George to provide our guests drink options other than Molson Canadian type beer (I don’t have the space to go into detail about the whole saga here). But we did our research and offered some alternatives that we thought would fit in his pricing model. He ordered them, without informing us, and when we called to follow up on the progress of the request, he then told us that they were already ordered but they will charged at a higher price. We had requested (months earlier) that he inform us of any price changes before ordering.
- I will say that the garden is very well maintained and beautiful and it is a beautiful venue for pictures.

We had the best time here!

We decided to have our wedding here before covid came around and had to reschedule our wedding 3 times. Georg (the venue owner and wedding planner) worked with us through everything, was so accommodating and was just amazing.

He puts his heart and sole into this, and tries his best to make this day special. He didn’t miss a single touch and is really a jack of all trades. They cover everything you could think of, from setting up, tearing down, flowers, food, music, and even provide a midnight snack. It’s really such an easy venue to have your wedding at :)

His staff and family are fantastic, food is amazing, the venue is beautiful (the getting ready room for the bridal party is stunning). I just can’t say enough positive things about this venue. We had the best night ever and it was so much fun. I wouldn’t have had it any other way :)

Wonderful All-Inclusive Wedding Venue

Such a beautiful, comprehensive wedding venue, from the getting ready room, ceremony, and reception locations, to the flowers, wedding cake, ice sculpture (yes, that's right!), and incredible food! As a wedding photographer, the whole heritage property is stunning, and really no need to go elsewhere, even for photos. Georg and his staff are very helpful and kind; all around, such a wonderful place to be!

Intimate Romantic wedding

The day was perfect despite some minor hitches. George is an awesome host. We had a tent for the rain but the weather was clear enough for an outdoor garden wedding. George and his family made sure the setting and flower arrangements were perfectly placed and beautiful. It is an intimate indoor gathering , our guests loved the food and kept commenting on how they were impressed by the venue. We were very happy to share our special day with family and friends there. I loved the garden, the history of the location, and enjoyed getting to know our host. It was personalized and we loved the comfortable chairs, linen table clothes, the personalized menu. Guests enjoyed taking home flower. The wedding bouquet for myself and my best lady was beautiful.

If you are looking to have the care free fairy tale wedding you've always dreamed of, Guisachan House is the venue for you! My husband and I where married there on September 16, 2017 and it was the most spectacular, magical day of my entire life. Leading up to the day George was by our side ready to answer any questions and requests we had. It never felt like we where bothering him, the day of the wedding he was extremely hospitable, taking care of myself (the bride) and my entire wedding party with coffee, crepes, extra decorations we brought and needed setting up. George is one of the most genuine, kind, loving person I've ever met. He quickly became one of the family. George went to great extents to give us our perfect day, stopping near by construction while the ceremony went on, he even stopped another group from having their wedding unannounced on the property at the same time. Not once did I have to worry, not one tear was shed, just smiles, love, and the purest happiness. The decorations and set up where marvelous, George and his son made us a Pirate Ship Ice Sculpture and a Scuba Diver Ice Sculpture. Our guests could drink shots out of the snorkel of the diver...it was a HUGE hit!!! Not one complaint! The house and the gardens where the most beautiful backdrop to our classic, vintage wedding theme. The property was well taken care of, gardeners do a great job! September was a stunning time of year, Okanagan smoke had subsided, we had a late ceremony at 4p.m and the lighting was flawless - For those that don't know the golden hours for photography are sunset and sunrise... no one was squinting, the sun wasn't bothersome, and the photos taken by guests where breath-taking. We recommend burning C.D's for your event... this makes the music aspect worry free...don't have to worry if you have the right cables and cords, or a compatible USB. We burned c.d's and had NO problem! George is an incredible chef recognised around the world, everything was home made - lots ranted about his mushroom soup, ceaser salad and the salmon...oh the salmon..mmm it melted in your mouth ! He also makes the cake and ours was DELICIOUS - Tiramisu & Chocolate souffle ICE CREAM CAKE! Dinner does take a few hours but that is to be expected when it's a four course meal, this is very European...it is meant to enjoy every meal, savoir it, enjoy the company your with, embrace this for it is also an experience! My husband and I rented the entire property and house with 130 guests and our head table on the veranda, leading up to the event we where a little concerned about where the head table was placed and how our guests would feel as everyone wouldn't be able to see us directly. My concerns where squashed immediately, George has T.V's in every corner of the rooms with cameras pointed at the head table the entire time...everyone loved that. The t.v's are large enough it felt like we where right in front of everyone! (we also made the point to get up lots and visit each table...if you do this keep in mind dinner service waits for you as the wedding party is first to be served, I didn't know and they had to come looking for me to serve the main course haha opps ;) just check back into the head table frequently ) Our guests totally enjoyed themselves and not one person complained about the arrangement of the head table's...this venue is so unique, and it fit our personality's perfectly. This isn't your typical hall, it was intimate and homey, each table has a stunning view, and the house it's self has so much character...I wouldn't worry one bit about your guests and the seating arrangement! Finally George and his team where incredible! They worked so hard and always had a smile on their faces! They gave us everything we asked for and went above and beyond. After dinner we kicked it up, it turned into a party and we danced the night away. The dance floor may seem small but it actually holds alot of people not to mention the dancing poured out into the hallways. You guys.... when I write and think about my wedding day my heart explodes with love, joy and pure ecstasy! I've never felt that much love in one place in my entire life, it was beyond my wildest dreams. Brides - don't sweat the small stuff, ride the waves, be flexible and nothing can go wrong!

Thank you George and your wonderful team....you all made our wedding day the best day of my life!!!! One I will never forget and warms my heart daily.

Amazing place for a wedding!

We had our 100 person wedding at this venue (not suitable for more than 150 people). It was all around amazing venue. The beautiful garden, fantastic staff, and delicious food. We were guided throughout the planning process by the amazing Georg. If you're not much of a planner, this place is definitely for you as most of what you need for the wedding is included at this venue. Brilliant!
