Sage Catering is the exclusive Caterer at the University Centre which is a venue located in Vancouver at the University of British Columbia Point Grey Campus. This Arthur Erickson designed venue specializes in hosting weddings and private functions on its lovely garden premises. A romantic wedding at Sage is just a few clicks away!
Facilities and capacity
With stunning views of the Georgia Strait and North Shore Mountains, the facilities offered by Sage Catering include a courtyard and two patio areas near the Rose Gardens which can be used for outdoor ceremonies. It also offers up to 8 private event spaces located on 3 different levels. It has a capacity for up to 250 guests.

Colin was fantastic to work with and made sure everything ran smoothly on the day of the event. We got many compliments on the food (we chose the hors d’oeuvres and buffet options) and an open bar with champagne. The courtyard was a beautiful setting for the ceremony, and felt very secluded and private. Highly recommended for smaller weddings such as ours, which had 35 guests!

Sage's service was incredible!!!
Sage's service was beyond amazing. Colin, their coordinator for our wedding planning and day, was SO kind, and helpful. He was always there for us when we had doubts, questions, and he always had a quick solution in mind! We had our ceremony and reception at Sage, and both things were simply perfect. Guests were so comfortable and had so many good comments about the wedding that I was amazed. Food was super good! The drinks were great as well. They had a variety of selections that made it easy for us to decide based on what we really wanted. It was simply, special. If you are thinking on hiring Sage, you just have to!

Phenomenal food & staff
“I’M TELLING YOU THAT FOOD WAS SO GOOD!” These were the words of one of my good friends, whose husband is a chef and owns a restaurant on South Granville. Other quotes from my wedding guests include, “that steak was so incredibly tender” and, “Sablefish is my favourite, but it never tasted so good before!”. My vegan friend came up to me during dinner, fork in hand and said, “you have to try this. It’s the best mushroom I’ve ever had”. In fact, every time I ran into a friend after our wedding, the memory of the food would come back to them, and mid-sentence, their eyes would widen and they’d say, “oh my god! The food!” It was so rewarding to hear how the people I loved felt nourished and beyond satisfied with their meal at our wedding. The catering and bartending staff were also phenomenal! They were so friendly and helpful – I remember one staff who held my plate for me at the buffet while I held the train of my dress up. And I can’t thank Levi enough, who was our food and beverage manager. He always answered my emails in a timely way, and he managed to snag the last few rental patio warmers in the city before our October wedding. Because we were married during pandemic restrictions, dancing wasn’t permitted indoors, but with the patio warmers and a covered patio, our guests sang karaoke and danced their hearts out!

Beautiful venue with great staff
My fiance and I were very happy with our reception at Sage! The venue is a great space, and Michael, our catering coordinator, was very organized and responsive. The evening went smoothly and we received many compliments from our guests on the quality of the food.

Amazing Venue to get married at!
Sage is such a beautiful venue to get married at! We had the ceremony inside the ideas lounge, cocktail hour on the patio and the reception in the main restaurant area.
Michael and the staff at Sage were amazing to work with!! Michael was super responsive to all of our emails and so flexible with all of our requests.
They don't typically do rehearsals, but were able to accommodate us just before our big day even with their busy schedule.
Sage has so many options to choose from including buffet style, family style, or multiple course dinner. We chose a 5 course dinner and added canapes for cocktail hour and late night snacks (which were a hit!!).
They worked with our Coordinator from Elle Weddings really well and the day went by so smoothly with no hiccups!

UBC Sage - 10/10 Would Recommend!
We had such a great experience with UBC Sage... they put together a beautiful wedding in less than two months, and they were a delight to deal with. Meagan was our contact and she went above and beyond - answering my 4-5 emails a day, searching her own house for a steamer for my dress, making sure all of my million dietary requests were met for all of our guests, providing a special chair and extension cord for my gran to have a comfortable seat and heating pad for dinner... she was just so lovely. Everyone was raving about the food (we did the Lion's Bay menu with an added gnocchi course - delish), and the we thought the prices (both food and beverage) were very reasonable. Can't say enough about this venue!

Great Food and Super Easy to Work With
We had our wedding at Cecil Green, which has Sage as the in-house caterer. The food was very tasty, and there were plenty of options for everyone. (Levi reached out to me a while before the wedding to make sure there would be special vegan options for myself and a few of the guests, since there wasn't a vegan entree on any of there buffet menus.)
They were very responsive and easy to work with through the planning process. Since we were working without a coordinator, they helped us with figuring out how much food to order and fine-tune our timeline.
On the day of, everything ran like clockwork. Everything was ready when we needed it and everything ran perfectly on schedule. (And the food was great!)

Great Venue!
Sage is such a great venue to have your wedding at! We had both our receptions at Sage. Due to Covid, on our original wedding date, we only had a small, immediate family only reception in 2020, and in 2021, we were able to have our original-sized reception. On both occasions, Sage delivered on a wonderful experience, delicious food, and a responsive team that answered all our questions. Nicky, our venue coordinator, went above and beyond. He truly made our lives so much less stressful and we can't thank him enough for all that he's done for us. The venue itself is also so beautiful! Mountain views, ponds, trees, modern restaurant - it was everything we were looking for. Highly recommend!
