Not Great- Regretful

I regret holding my wedding reception here.
While the layout was great for the structure of the event , and the venue was responsive leading up the event, the day of coordination left much to be desired. The bartenders and bar drinks were excellent though.

A few things to keep in mind:

- The portion sizes were much smaller than we thought they’d be- we ran out of our dessert and late night eats within minutes of them being out. Embarrassing and made us look cheap.
- The food was slow to come out and wasn’t replenished when finished- at one point, my wedding party just sat with side dishes and no protein for minutes on...

While the layout was great for the structure of the event , and the venue was responsive leading up the event, the day of coordination left much to be desired. The bartenders and bar drinks were excellent though.

A few things to keep in mind:

- The portion sizes were much smaller than we thought they’d be- we ran out of our dessert and late night eats within minutes of them being out. Embarrassing and made us look cheap.
- The food was slow to come out and wasn’t replenished when finished- at one point, my wedding party just sat with side dishes and no protein for minutes on end. People were offering half their chicken breast to others. Awkward. I barely got any food myself.
- The mic’s had issues (music playing over our voices, broken ringing), distracting from our speeches. No one from the venue helped us despite knowing exactly when we were holding them
- We had a guest that was over served alcohol. She vomited in the bathroom and we were charged $250 for a “janitorial fee”. Similar to the downstairs restaurant portion, this should be the cost of business. The restaurant claims she didn’t throw up due to intoxication- how they’d say that with certainty is beyond me.
- We asked a server to bring over a bottle of Prosecco to us at dinner. It never came. We weren’t checked on during the meal at all. We drank the same wine as everyone else during our wedding dinner.
- 2 guests claim to never got their special meals and ate downstairs at the restaurant after. The venue refunded those meals though which we appreciate.
- We mentioned we’d come early to set up. We got there and the tables weren’t arranged and half the chairs were missing. I went to go get help and it turns out the set up was actually happening at 3. The venue didn’t tell us that and that made me feel panicked on my wedding day when I first walked in.

The Perfect Modern Venue

Couldn’t have asked for a better reception venue. As someone who hates planning, I did not want to deal with with multiple vendors, this is a one stop shop for everything you need. I didn’t even need a wedding coordinator as they literally helped with everything venue wise. You can host both a ceremony and a reception here but we opted for just the reception as we hosted a private ceremony elsewhere, however they were super accommodating of both. The layout was perfect, the space had so many options for those who wanted to sit and chat without having to stand on the dance floor, or back at the dinner able. This was a huge plus for our elderly...

The staff were amazing and accommodating with not only all of our questions leading up to the day, but during. The food was amazing and the portions were huge and they even packed up leftovers for us to take home so we didn’t waste anything. I still have people reaching out to me mentioning how good the food was. They were very accommodating for those with dietary restrictions and had really good options for vegetarian and vegans. I am very pleased with our choice to host our reception at the loft and would recommend it anyone! Everyone tells you to plan for things to go wrong on your wedding day, but our day couldn’t have been more perfect. Thank you to the earls team for making it so easy for us to enjoy our day.

Best Venue in Vancouver!

I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding. Our guests raved about the food and cocktails. The service staff were incredible. They even moved up our dinner by 30 minutes as we were running ahead of schedule.

Incredible Experience!

We absolutely loved having our wedding at The Loft. Victoria, their Event Manager, was so responsive and so helpful - she had the perfect suggestions for us every step of the way. Everyone raved about the food, the drinks, and the room. It's a perfect space that you can easily make your own and there was plenty of room for all of our guests to mingle and dance after dinner. We would highly recommend having an event at The Loft!

Amazing venue!!

This venue was absolutely perfect. Barely needed to decorate because it was already so beautiful, and the food was delicious!

Beautiful venue

We picked The Loft because it's a venue where you don't have to do a lot for the space to look great. Most of our guests had never been there before and kept commenting on what a cool space it was and how perfect for our size (about 70 people) to feel intimate but not crowded.

The food was also excellent - we had multiple people comment on it after dinner and in the weeks since our wedding!

Staff was super helpful and friendly (especially the on site manager during our event, he was so accommodating and really on it) and the event manager, Victoria, was very helpful in answering my many questions leading up...

We picked The Loft because it's a venue where you don't have to do a lot for the space to look great. Most of our guests had never been there before and kept commenting on what a cool space it was and how perfect for our size (about 70 people) to feel intimate but not crowded.

Could not recommend The Loft more!

We had a wonderful experience working with Victoria to plan our wedding at The Loft. She was extremely responsive and answered all of my questions promptly and was willing to communicate with other family members as well. The wedding was amazing; the staff were attentive, the space is beautiful, and the food was delicious.

Truly the perfect venue for a small wedding

We hosted a stand-up cocktail wedding reception at the Loft in June 2019. Things couldn't have gone much better! The space is absolutely beautiful, so it didn't require much decor. The staff were incredibly responsive in the lead-up to the event, and frankly they made our day-of coordinator practically unnecessary because they were so on the ball and helpful on the day of the reception. Their layout suggestions were so helpful.

The one challenge we had was with A/V - we had challenges with the mics, the projector didn't work at all, and the sound was turned much too low for both speeches and dancing, requiring us to go fix it ourselves. I mostly hold the day-of coordinator...

I mostly hold the day-of coordinator responsible for not fixing the low audio - that was primarily her job - but it would have saved us if the Earls staff had noticed, so I'll give them a small chiding for that.

Overall, though, I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. People are still talking about how good the food was, even months after the fact, and the price was SUCH good value for a venue so convenient to a Skytrain station. I'd definitely recommend this as a wedding venue.

Best Venue in Downtown Vancouver

We were so happy with our wedding at the Loft at Earls. Our coordinator that day (Amy) and her team were amazing. Our wedding went off without a hitch and Amy was so attentive all night to us, ensuring that we had absolutely everything we needed. I could not recommend this place enough. The price was also incredibly affordable for what you got - total cost covered food, venue, drinks, service, coordinator.

She prepared a budget and believe us when we say that we came within a few hundred dollars of that estimate - which is incredible considering we had an open bar! Amy had the answers for everything. She knew how many canapés people would eat on average, how many drinks and what size to order for certain platters based on our guest count. She also worked with us to create a late-night taco station which was really important for us. People raved about the food and bar service. Amy was there the entire day, checked in during the reception to ask how everything was, kept an eye on us during the evening to see if we needed anything - and packed up the leftovers for guests to take home. We would highly recommend that you reach out to Amy and her team to schedule a site visit for The Loft as we can guarantee you'll fall in love with it, just like we did! The Loft above Earls is a hidden gem in Yaletown.
