The over all experience was great, Our coordinator was on top of all our needs from beginning to end. We were able to make my visions come to life within my budget. I couldnt ask for an easier team to work with.

I would not recommend using the TownePlace Suites Brantford for your wedding at all. My spouse and I had nothing but issues with them almost right from the start. The number one issue was communication with the coordinator, especially the day of my wedding. I emailed and called him the morning of my wedding just to get some clarification on some things I had emailed him prior on and hadn't gotten a response. He never returned my call or email the day of the wedding. I did not see him or hear from him until I arrived at the reception at 6pm.
We booked with the hotel in Sept 2022. I reached out to the coordinator Oct 2022 just to ask a few questions, didn't hear back but they weren't pressing questions so I put it aside until January 2023 (wedding was March 2023). I emailed again, and got a response saying the coordinator was no longer with the hotel and that they would be in touch with me when they have hired a new coordinator. I came to find out that the coordinator had left in October 2022 and I was not notified, and honestly, I don't think I would have been told as the day got closer if I hadn't reached out.
Some back and forth happened with this new contact until they stopped emailing me. About a week goes by, no response so I do up a complaint on the Marriott website, they get back to me in a couple of days saying they have forwarded my email to TownePlace Brantford Manager. I finally hear from a new coordinator they have hired. This is when everything went downhill.
I had to go over everything with this new coordinator that I had already gone over with the previous coordinator, even though there was a file for our wedding.
He tried to tell me that what she told us and the info she gave us and we signed with, was incorrect or had changed since then. For example, the menu changed since signing up. Unfortunately, we did not get everything in writing so some of the things did have to change but he tried to say things we had signed on were incorrect, for example, the way the meal was served, which halls we got to use, the price per person, etc.
The whole process was very frustrating. The General Manager even got involved and nothing was accomplished. We ended up paying more per person because numbers changed, even though we were already charged more per person for our numbers being less than 150 when we signed.
We had already paid half of the working balance with the original coordinator, so we had no option but to continue working with this venue or we would lose the money we had paid as per the contract. Plus we were only 2 months away so it wasn't an option to cancel at this point. We didn't expect them to give us any money back or anything but we at least thought they wouldn't increase the price based on the experience we had had.
I emailed the Head office again about the situation and how the GM had gotten involved and was not accommodating at all and they replied saying it is up to the General Manager to deal with.
Thankfully, the day was great but the stress leading up to the date, lack of communication and the amount of times we had to remind the coordinator what was happening is what led me to write a review, so the next person won't go through something like this. The caterer, servers, bartenders, DJ and decorator they use were all fantastic though, just TownePlace Suites Coordinator and General Manager were horrible to work with. I would not recommend this for a venue to anyone and I would advise people to stay away.

My husband and I got married at the Marriott recently and I’ve contemplated writing a review or not. However I decided that other couples considering the Marriott for their wedding venue should know the pros and cons of this reception venue.
Starting with the decor, which was beautiful, this was due to the wonderful Cindy from now and always decor. The food was AMAZING, if you’re looking for an event to be catered I’d highly recommend Mercasa, Tom was so great to work with.
The dj the venue provided was also great to work with - Darren at perfectly sound.
The venue itself .. was just a venue and if I were to get married over again I think I would use all of the same vendors but I would choose a different location. The main reason for this is the communication or the lack there of. Everyone is so hard to get in contact with and will take FOREVER to respond and that is after reaching out multiple times. Half the time I never even got a response. Also be warned it will take over a month to get your damage deposit back, which would have been fine if someone had told us ahead of time. Basically everything felt so disorganized when it came to the Marriott and their staff. Again, I would like to mention Now & Always, Mercasa and the other vendors associated with the Marriott were AMAZING to work with.

I recently had the pleasure of attending an event at Affinity Conference Centre and I cannot express how delighted I was with the entire experience. From start to finish, every aspect of the event exceeded my expectations.

The venue itself is absolutely stunning. The elegant and sophisticated décor created the perfect ambiance for the event. The attention to detail in the design and layout of the banquet hall showcased a true commitment to excellence. Plus point being that it can host upto 350+ people.

The exceptional service provided by the staff was truly commendable. Not forgetting the level of professionalism and warmth displayed by the entire team which made everyone feel truly valued and pampered.

I highly recommend Affinity Conference Centre for any special occasion! *5 stars no doubt*

I honestly would never recommend this venue. Do yourself a favour and avoid! Limited to no communication.

Over the span of 1 year from signing to the date of our wedding, we had four separate contacts/coordinators. The first was absolutely horrendous. You could email and follow up weekly and still not receive a response. Once I paid the initial deposit, communication went drastically downhill. When this coordinator left, no one from the Marriott reached out to me. Therefore I was emailing an account that wasn’t being monitored for over a month. I called the venue to only be told she was no longer with the Marriott.

There was no accountability and I constantly felt as though I was being spoke down to for not knowing their processes (that they never explained or gave).

I was told different things by each new coordinator. I had to reexplain where we were at several times. They changed the food/catering service without notifying us of the new menu until we asked for dietary accommodations for a couple of guests.

The last and most recent coordinator was the best of them all, but unfortunately we only had him for a little over a week and he was still in training. Not his fault…. But didn’t save my experience by any means.

This overall was a headache and wouldn’t recommend you undertake the stress.

I have no idea who the new food caterer is… although the food was just okay. I wouldn’t hire again over.
