We were married there May 21 2022

First and foremost, I cannot say enough good things about Barb Timms! We were married the day of the big storm. Barb and her staff didn't break a sweat and they pulled off our wedding without a hitch! Despite having no Hydro the day was seamless for my husband and I as well as all of our guests!

Everyone raved about the food and the accommodations. The whole experience leading up to the wedding was a pleasure as well. I would recommend Black Diamond to anyone!

Barb deserves a raise! I cannot imagine how stressed she was trying to pull it all together after one of the biggest storms on record.

First and foremost, I cannot say enough good things about Barb Timms! We were married the day of the big storm. Barb and her staff didn't break a sweat and they pulled off our wedding without a hitch! Despite having no Hydro the day was seamless for my husband and I as well as all of our guests!

Smithcilla wedding 2024

Where do I begin!? Barb was fantastic from the moment we emailed to book an appointment to look around and discuss the venue to the very last time we chatted with her. Black Diamond was the first and only place we toured. After our meeting with Barb we cancelled our other appointments and decided black diamond was the perfect place for us to get married. The staff at black diamond worked above and beyond during our wedding day, they were personable, polite, professional and fun! The recommendations for DJ, officiant, decorator, florist etc were just as amazing. When Barb says they do everything she means EVERYTHING!!! We cannot thank the black diamond enough for making our day so much better.

Amazing!!!

This was such an amazing venue to work with! They were extremely flexible and accommodated all of our requests. They took care of all of the set up along with having multiple decorations (centrepieces, arbour, etc.) to choose from which is great because you don’t have to buy a bunch of things you will only use once. Many of our guests said it was truly one of the best weddings they have ever been too. Plus the food is fantastic!!!! The wedding package includes a 3 course meal, many cocktail hour snacks and a late night snack!!

This was such an amazing venue to work with! They were extremely flexible and accommodated all of our requests. The best day!

We had an incredible experience with Black Diamond! From start to finish, they made us feel so comfortable and at ease. Barb is truly the wedding guru and is there to make life easier every step of the way- she truly was one of the main reasons we went with BD. They truly went above and beyond to ensure our day was perfect! We can't thank them enough- such a special place in our hearts.

If you’re considering having your wedding at Black Diamond Golf Club.. DO IT!!

My husband and I got married at Black Diamond Golf Club in Pontypool in September of 2024. When we were searching for wedding venues, we were looking for a place that allowed us to do our ceremony, photos and reception. At Black Diamond you can do it all there and it turned out more beautiful than I ever could have imagined! It was really important to us to have good food. At our tasting we were so impressed with the food and on our big day our guests were all complimenting both the amount and quality of the food. In terms of cost, we we’re told the price very clearly and paid exactly that - no hidden fees! Barb and the Black Diamond staff are very professional and personable, they make you feel very welcomed and treated all guests with kindness. If you decide to get married at Black Diamond, the coordinator Barb will help connect you with other vendors that are very budget friendly - we used them and LOVED them! There is no coordinator like Barb she really is the best of the best! Barb had excellent communication and made the wedding planning process so fun for us. If you are considering having your wedding at Black Diamond, do it - you won’t regret it!

Wedding Venue

I absolutely highly recommend Barb and her crew at Black Diamond. Immediately Barb sold Black Diamond and made us feel like family from the very beginning.
We've recieved so many compliments on the food, it was so delicious!
Jordan and her crew at the bar were so friendly, professional and efficient.
The venue, inside and outside was so beautiful.
Everything about our day was absolutely amazing and perfect, we are so sad it's over now!
Thank you Black Diamond, out day was absolutely perfect, all the staff are so incredible, we had so much fun and we are so happy with everything.

Wedding of our dreams

We were extremely happy with the quality of service and professionalism of Black Diamond.

We can’t believe how stress free our wedding was with the experienced guidance coming from Barb, the venue’s wedding coordinator. We had looked at many other venues before finding Black Diamond and we were actually pointed in this direction from another wedding venue. Truly, we cannot thank her enough for making us feel welcome and taking care of us both leading up to the wedding and the day of.

The food was amazing, the views were breathtaking and the staff were very helpful.

We would definitely recommend hosting your wedding here, 10/10 venue.

First Wedding of 2024 at Black Diamond

The moment we began our first venue tour, we knew this was the place we would begin our forever.
Through the entire process, we were at ease and feeling stress free. The team at Black Diamond did an outstanding job with Barb steering the ship, her extensive knowledge and expertise making wedding planning feel simple.
We hired Diana McCulloch to do our decor and floral. She left us astonished with the beauty and romantic setting she was able to create from our vision. The floral combinations and the King’s table were just what we had imagined.
Our guests raved about the food and atmosphere, claiming it was the best wedding they had ever attended! The bartenders were professional and fun! Shout out to our fellow Swifty ;)!
Wishing we could re-live it all over again. If you are planning a wedding, we suggest you call Barb right now. You will not be sorry!

They answered any questions our guests had throughout the night and were super accommodating to get us set up for both an indoor or outdoor ceremony in case the weather was rainy. We opted for inside and they made our ceremony space look beyond beautiful. We received so many compliments from guests on how spacious the venue was, as well as how delicious the food was. I cannot recommend Black Diamond enough if you are looking to have your wedding or special event here. Barb was beyond helpful throughout our entire wedding process and helped us with anything we needed. We were blown away with how beautiful our reception space looked when we walked in on our wedding day. The venus itself is stunning and again, the amount of compliments we received were endless.
