The Fergus Grand Theatre offers a distinctive atmosphere for your special day that cannot be duplicated.
Facilities and capacity
Craft a unique ceremony by holding it within the historic walls of the Fergus Grand Theatre. The beautiful, intimate lobby is ideal for a post-service reception. Capture memorable moments at the gorgeous historic Templin Gardens located just outside the back door of the theatre. The theatre can comfortably seat up to 252 guests facing a raised stage. Modern heating and air conditioning systems, theatrical lighting, and sound and audio-visual capabilities create a comfortable setting for your event.
Services offered
The Fergus Grand Theatre provides event rentals for your wedding celebration. Apart from that, they also take care of the lighting and sound systems as well as other technical equipment to ensure you enjoy a flawless party. Couples also have the flexibility to bring their own vendors for wedding services.
History
Sam Fardella transformed the old barn into Fergus Grand Theatre on the main street of Fergus. Louis B. Mayer, the head of MGM in Hollywood, sent Sam best wishes by telegram on the Grand Theatre's opening night on August 28, 1928. Throughout the 1930s, '40s and '50s, the Grand Theatre presented movies, plays, concerts, and other live events. In the late 1960s, Jake Milligan, cable television pioneer, bought the building to house the rapidly growing Fergus-Elora Cable TV, as well as an electronics store. Hugh and Lorraine Drew-Brook bought the theatre in the early 1990s and began professional summer theatre. In the summer of 2003, the theatre on the Grand came to an end, and the building then became the property of the Township of Centre Wellington.
