My experience using Fort Henry as my wedding venue was nothing but positive. I had an excellent wedding. Alex and Shaughnessy were fantastic to work with and very responsive to emails. On my wedding day, it rained, and the staff were flexible in adjusting plans to incorporate an indoor ceremony. The venue was large enough to accommodate the ceremony indoors without too many issues. Our wedding had about 100 guests for the ceremony and 120 for the reception.

The venue’s washrooms and bridal suite were nice and clean. The venue itself was clean and modern, yet cozy. The windows overlook the water, providing a great view. The patio was well-maintained and polished. Additionally, the staff allowed us to take photos within Fort Henry, which provided some unique wedding photography opportunities. The sunset over Kingston also made for some stunning photos.

Overall, I would highly recommend Fort Henry as a venue. My only concern was with ByTown—the exclusive food vendor for Fort Henry. My advice is to be prepared to negotiate, ask questions, and request clarifications with this vendor. I wasn't afraid to question amounts on my quote, ask how much something cost, and request its removal if I found it too expensive. In the end, ByTown fulfilled all my requests and provided a fantastic catering experience.

I hope everyone already knows Fort Henry is one of the BEST wedding venues in Kingston, but if you're wondering whether to book it, don't hesitate! This venue is absolutely stunning. The staff was amazing, and shoutout to Alex, who went above and beyond on our wedding day. The team guided us through every step leading up to the event, making us feel completely at ease. Our wedding day was perfect—we had an intimate ceremony on the patio, and even if it had rained, I was confident everything would have gone smoothly (also for being early May there were no bug or wind on the patio for the ceremony and cocktail hour!). The venue provided the best setting for photos, with an incredible setup. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. Thanks to Fort Henry, all the vendors, and the dedicated staff, we had the perfect day with no regrets. Everyone was lovely and committed to making our day memorable!

We had the most wonderful coordinator Shaughnessy! She made everything go so smoothly, she checked on me multiple times in the day to make sure I was doing okay and if I needed anything, my dad uses a wheelchair and the building was accessible and Shaughnessy made sure she went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable! We got some incredible photos in the Fort and I couldn’t have asked for a better day! 1000% worth it

Working with Shaughnessy, Alex, and the Fort Henry team was an absolutely pleasure and we owe much of the success of our day to their hard work, diligence, and expertise. We planned our wedding during some trying times through illness, the birth of our first child, the end of COVID, and Shaughnessy and Alex worked with us through all of this! We sincerely cannot thank them enough for making our perfect day happen.

My husband and I got married at the Great Hall (Fort Henry) in July 2023. From the first venue tour, the staff were extremely prompt, friendly and professional in their communication with us. They answered all of our questions, were quick to respond to all follow up emails, and protactive in communicating any changes, procedures and deadlines to us throughout the planning process. The venue coordinator we worked with (Shaughnessy Bassett) was so kind and attentive to our needs. She was so helpful during the site visit and floor planning stages, she provided flexible rehearsal/final check-in accommodations given that we were coming from out of town, and she worked with our wedding coordinator day-of to ensure a seamless transition from our planned outdoor ceremony to an indoor ceremony due to inclement weather.

The venue itself is beautiful, offering a picturesque view of the water and Kingston skyline. The interior of the hall needs little decorating - we loved the wall of glass overlooking the water, the exposed wood beams, stone arch and floors. The outdoor terraces and patio furniture provided a quieter space for guests to mingle after the rain stopped, and we loved being able to walk the grounds with our photographers to get the most beautiful golden hour shots. We would definitely recommend this venue to other couples!

Other info: the venue provides ceremony and reception chair rentals at a very reasonable/low cost, and provides all reception tables (dinner, high top, buffet) at no extra charge. They also do the set up and tear-down of these items. Bytown Catering is the official/contracted caterer for Fort Henry, and we enjoyed their food and reception service! (Menu/service logistics and costing determined through Bytown).

Everything was perfect. Our day of coordinator Alex made us feel really relaxed and knew how to get some really gorgeous photos. The food was amazing, it's all our guests could talk about other than my dress.

My husband and I got married at Fort Henry on August 14, 2022. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue! The historic fort was the perfect fit for us as a couple because my husband is a history professor and I'm a history teacher, and we met through this shared connection. The views were stunning, the staff was incredibly helpful, and the Great Hall reception space is beautiful! We held our ceremony in East Park and would highly recommend this lovely treed area. Thank you to Heather and Danielle who were with us every step of the way as we planned (and replanned when we postponed for a year due to the pandemic) our special day. We loved every second of our wedding day and could not have imagined getting married anywhere else! We look forward to coming back to visit Fort Henry again soon.

This venue was EVERYTHING and then some. We loved how we got to take pictures around the Fort. The backdrops were breathe taking. They were so helpful and flexible when it came to last minute questions or requests. We would host more events there if we hosted events!

Absolutely amazing service heather and her team pulled off some amazing things for my husband and I and made our day beyond what we expected. We had some issues with our decorator and heather made sure it turned out perfect with even getting another company in to decorate! The day turned out perfect because of heather and her amazing team!
Photo were beautiful and our guests couldn’t stop telling us how perfect the venue was and how everything was just gorgeous.

Julia and Heather worked with us in the months leading up to the event and on the day-of to ensure that it was such a perfect experience for everyone. Despite the changing and challenging public health restrictions we found a way to make everything work beautifully, sometimes on short notice! I couldn't imagine my wedding any other way than the perfect way it turned out. Thanks!
