Unique Indoor Ceremony Venue

We held our wedding ceremony at the Prince of Wales Armourie's and it went amazingly well. Leading up to the event, there was sometimes a bit of trouble communicating with the venue but that seemed understandable for a government building. We were eventually able to get all the details sorted out and they were very accommodating of all our requests. The day before the wedding, our coordinator sent us photos of the setup, and was able to make the changes we requested. Then day-of the onsite coordinator was fantastic and there was ample signage everywhere pointing our guests where to go, which I really appreciated it as the building can be somewhat confusing to navigate if you've never been there before. I didn't hear of any of our guests getting lost though! The venue also accommodated our officiants last minute request to put a podium in the room. The building was of course beautiful and the staff let us take the majority of our pictures inside after the ceremony, as the weather was not great. I would definitely recommend the Prince of Wales Armourie's for anyone looking for a unique, indoor ceremony venue.

Pros. There are various charming spaces available for use of the building. You do get the entire building for the most of the day of your event. Tables are included as well as chairs. They help with tear down and transfer of items from one room to the other between ceremony and reception. Building is located between Kingsway Mall and downtown for convenience.
Cons. Due to the need to have security on site you only have a limited amount of time to set up and tear down for the amount of the venue. We would have been better off with a community hall. We used upstairs for the ceremony and the main floor for the reception. The venue does not have an ice machine or freezer. The kitchen is not very large for the caterer, as well as flowers and alcohol. Very limited amount of parking, and ets decided to do construction on the lrt day of so there was even less room.
