Do not book this hall
I will be making a longer BAD review on yelp and Google. This hall is THE WORST. If you are even thinking of this hall DONT EVEN BOTHER. I booked this hall back in 2019 (my wedding at the time was scheduled for 2020). The first meeting went fine, they made us feel like we made such a good decision in choosing this hall, told us we would be stress free. THAT WAS FAR FROM THAT. Not only are they unprofessional but it’s a complete money grab, and a lot of broken promises. They are the worst communicators, shoot down ur ideas for UR WEDDING. They charge you a RIDICULOUS plate fee if you choose an outside catering company, the decor prices are also ridiculous since the hall is already so pretty. YOU WILL NOT BE SAVING ANY MONEY. When I had to postpone bc of covid, I had decor I had chosen and when everything started to open up again they SOLD EVERYTHING. I had to choose different decor that didn’t even match my wedding theme. They even made fun of the colour pink not being a wedding theme. They got rid of the chairs I wanted (bc they had to sell it) so i had to choose the only type of chairs they had which costed me $4 per chair (i had a 220 person wedding) You also have to buy ur own candles (if you choose to have candles as center pieces), the selection for center pieces is an absolute joke, they make u pay for wine glasses, and won’t let u use anybody else for that. You have to bring supplies like seating chart, welcome sign, table numbers, liq, DAY of your wedding they wouldn’t let me drop it off before that. There was so many things that were wrong with this hall. The managers are rude, Sue is THE WORST to deal with. Overall If I could give everything a ZERO I would. They only care about your money, they make fun of you for being on a budget, they try to squeeze every last penny out of you. No service, but keeps your money
Due to the pandemic and rules we cancelled with this venue back in early 2020. They refused to give our deposit of $4000.00 back. Eventually put in agreement in place stating they’ll provide 50% refund in increments of $250.00 and have been avoiding any type of payment since rules have lifted and completely ignore my inquiries. The owners are very unprofessional and have stated they refuse to read emails as it’s a waste of their time because it’s not making them any money. They also refuse to acknowledge the other part of their agreement and have not yet acknowledged their dismissal of it.

Is it true that you guys started a renovation at Riversidepalace knowning you have multiple bookings coming up for that venue? An all in one package. Great food. Great venue. Great decors. Great staff and dj. All for a great price. This hall is the worst. They are shady and try to weasel money out of you everytime you turn around. If you want to bring your decorator in you have to pay a $400 fee, you have to use their light system, Dj, and bartenders. None of this was disclosed prior to me paying my $1000 deposit. It was always one thing after another with them and at one point the Bobby threaten to cancel my wedding when I was less the 4 months from the day.

We booked the Riverside Grand Ballroom. It is a beautiful hall. Someone I knew had recommended this hall to us and we had Sue deal with all of our details. She went over everything thoroughly and the hall looked amazing the day of.
I think the value for what we paid for was great. The food was beyond delicious, they let you bring your own alcohol which was a huge factor for us.
The reason why I didn't give them 5 stars on everything is because you have to hire their in house DJ in order to use the slideshow screens, sound system and lighting system. They do have legitimate reason stating dj's that haven't used the system tend to play around with wiring and whatnot and then they have to pay for repairs. But this is what annoyed me, we went with their in house DJ. *overpriced I believe as I know many dj's who would've done a better job for less. They hire through this company called Canadian DJ. His name was Marshall.... Geez where do I begin with this guy. I sent him the song list and an entrance list with the names and people in order and what time to play the songs.. When we did our entrance walk in songs he screwed up a few of the entrances, one of the songs just cut out 5 seconds into it and he didn't even end up replaying the song it just went to the next entrance, then he told one of my MC's that I didn't give him an itinerary which is why he screwed up the entrances.... I sent the itinerary with the same song list he had so how did he get only the songs?? Also I had texted the list to him..... But whatever no big deal. The night before my wedding at 2:30AM....who is up at that hour? he calls me to let me know he won't be able to play the slideshow I sent because it was through a different slideshow maker than the one he has. Well what a waste of money, no slideshow. Which was one of the reasons we went with their in house DJ. This guy just turned on the dance floor lights, music was almost muted we kept telling him to turn it up. My cousins put together a surprise dance performance and gave him an iPod and the auxiliary cord kept cutting out their dance. And the last hour of the night he wasn't in the DJ booth he was sitting and watching us dance. Then at the end of the night tells me that's the best playlist he's played in 35 years of DJing, honestly if I hadn't given a playlist, (also I had to give him the link with every single YouTube link to the song) I don't know what he would've played, and if you're a DJ don't you think you would have an extensive music library??!!! I went to another wedding a few weeks after at that same hall and the other DJ did an amazingggg job. Wish we could've known who we are getting but if you are going to recommend a vendor, a DJ is crucial to how your night will play out. Besides the little bumps if I am rating strictly on the banquet hall, food and service they did an amazing job. But the hall recommended Canadian DJ and that took points off since it screwed up a few things at the reception. Our wedding was held at the Riverside Banquet Palace Hall. We had a great time and Bobby and Sue were easy to work with. We could not be any happier with the decorations and food. Our guests are still talking about both! I checked out this venue for my wedding reception and even though I ended up choosing a different venue, I still hired them to do the drapery at my new venue. I dealt with Bobby and he was very professional throughout the entire process.
