We used this hall for our reception. It was beautiful. Definitely worth the look.

The hall was amazing and was a steal of a deal at 900$ (at the time I booked) for Friday and Saturday. My only down falls is that the hall comes with 4 pages of dos and donts which are VERY extensive and some are hard including no tape, nails, tacs, command hooks, sticky tax on the walls so you basically can’t decorate the walls at all and they have no podium for speeches. Aside from that the hall was perfect. My only other reason they aren’t getting 5 stars is that the office is NEVER open during its listed hours. Every time we went down, even when we called first the hall was closed and we were left waiting. The only time this didn’t happen was when we were coming to get the keys for the wedding itself. Other than that, the ladies are nice and the amenities are perfect. I loved that I didn’t need to rent tables and chairs and that the washrooms were large. It was also nice to have the option of which lights we wanted on and off. I highly recommend the hall!

My wedding was July 21st and we had our reception at the Southwood Community Hall. The venue was beautiful inside. We wanted wooden beams along the ceiling and a venue that was large enough to hold all of our guests. We were allowed to use nails in the beams even thought we didn’t have to as they were already there which made it very convenient for hanging lights and lanterns on the beams. There were tables and chairs included with the hall. They had a kitchen that the caterers could cook in and a bar area with an ice machine for the bartenders. There were washroom stalls for guests but also a large single washroom which made it easy to use for me when I was in my wedding dress! We rented the hall for 2 days, we set up Friday night and had the wedding on Saturday. The venue was only $900 with a $600 refundable deposit. Cleaning fees were $140. This was a great price for a venue considering it had everything we needed and we had it for 2 days. There was also ample parking at the hall for guests. There was a smoking patio for those who smoked. They also had a projector for slide shows even though we did not use it for ours. They also have other options such as pop corn machine and hot and cold buffet tables for those who want it. The only negative thing I have to say about the hall is that we could not find the podium the night we set up even though I recall seeing it during previous visits in the tech closet, and there was no one for me to contact to ask where it might be as the number I had was only for the hall office. They were usually not bad at responding to emails, however on one occasion I did not hear from them and just asked my question when I went in person. We also could not find a mop in the hall when we needed it. Another thing is that we had to clean up the night of the wedding which was not ideal however it was nice not to have to go back the next day and still do it, so it did end up working out that it all got done the night of. Overall, we loved the hall and would definitely recommend it to anyone who was looking for a well priced and convenient venue.

This hall is a gem. It was so nice to find a space so affordable, but not the basic community hall you typically find with no windows, and a gymnasium floor. The ladies at the hall I found very responsive and helpful, and would definitely use this hall again.
