This is a difficult review to make. We were very happy with Stonebridge Golf & Country Club. We were pleased with the options and choices and their flexibility and calmness. That is, until the wedding day, when unforeseeen circumstances occurred. Our wedding was the day following the Ottawa tornadoes, and the venue lost power (along with most of Ottawa. Completely unexpected, unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances beyond anyone’s control). We were extremely disappointed when we were only informed at noon that the reception is cancelled. The food was spoiled, and when we offered to bring food from a different caterer, it was explained they cannot serve food without power.

The greatest disappointment was the lack of response and responsibility. The only suggestion was for us to “reschedule” our reception to October 27th (our wedding was September 22). This was completely unacceptable as we had many out of town guests (including several who travelled from Europe!). There was no effort to assist in helping make alternate arrangements for the reception, we were told he did not have “any contacts”. Friends and family banded together and made several phone calls and within 4 hours we located, by ourselves, a restaurant that would accept 100 guests at 8pm.

The ceremony was still held at Stonebridge, which was beautiful.

Once again, very pleasant to deal with from the beginning, however, very disappointing when a major crisis occurred and the only response was to reschedule the reception to a month later.

Always make sure your vendor has a backup plan in place!
