We booked this appt just to get the feel and style of the wedding dress my daughter would like. We never expected the service we would get!! It was simply amazing! Emily was absolutely fantastic.. personal, caring and professional! My daughter loved her!
We never dreamt that on our first appt.. the first dress picked on the hanger and the first dress tried on would be our YES TO THE DRESS!! Our first experience was full of laughter, wows, maybes, but most of all tears of joy!! This by far was one of my happiest days of my life thus far.. . the excitement and joy on my daughters face when she knew she had found the dress she loved and would be married in!
We all knew it was the one!!! ( mom, nan, mom in law and sister in law)
The staff brought out the champagne and glasses and we cheered my daughter on likely one of the most exciting days of her life!!

Absolutely fell in love with my dress. I was nervous about shopping for this but Lockharts made the process so simple and easy. I couldn’t have been happier with my dress.

From the moment I walked into Lockhart’s Weddings, I was not made to feel welcome. Instead, it was made clear that I should not have scheduled a fitting until closer to the wedding date when I was ready to purchase. Upon booking the appointment, I knew that my wedding was approximately 12 months away and my measurements would likely change during that time so it would not be wise to purchase a dress until approximately 6-9 months prior to the date. My intention was to enjoy an evening of trying on dress styles to see what I liked and include my future mother-in-law to share in our joy. Instead, our first interaction left me feeling embarrassed for wasting everyone’s time.

The owner initially asked me a number of questions, including the date of my wedding, approximate size, what styles I preferred, and my budget. However, almost 2 weeks prior I had spent considerable time completing a detailed online survey asking me all of these same questions in preparation for the appointment. It was evident that she knew none this information in advance and did not take the time to read my survey. If she had been aware of the details, perhaps she could have called me to recommend postponing my appointment.

After the shock of our initial interaction where I was told “well, we could still try on a few dresses if you like”, I decided to make the most of our evening together. I was offered 3 dresses to try on based on my preferences. The fitting room experience was very controlled and restricted, but this may have been due to new pandemic requirements. Much to my dismay, one of the dresses placed in my dressing room was at least 3 sizes too small, so far off in size that I could not even try it on. I left feeling supersized, defeated, and very disappointed.

Weddings are supposed to be exciting so why wouldn’t brides want to find their dream dress, or at least a style they like, well in advance? It is a uniquely special time and I would have expected the shop owner to share my joy or at least be understanding and supportive of this process. Five months ago, I had visited 3 other establishments where staff were attentive, complimentary, and I was so well cared for. At no time did I ever experience anything close to this.

I will never return to Lockhart’s Weddings and I would not recommend this business to anyone.

I was told everyone finds their dress in Sussex and it was true for me!

The consultant made me and my crew super comfortable and respected my budget. Not once did I feel rushed or pressured to try something on or to make a decision.

When I found "the dress" the process of buying and the contract was explained very well.

10/10 would highly recommend!

I went to Lockhart's hoping for a wedding dress, and came out with that and all of my bridesmaids dresses! They were exceptionally helpful, not at all pushy (which I love), and genuinely cared about what I wanted out of my dresses. I 100% recommend :)

Sherry and her staff were phenomenal. I was always a little stressed about getting my dress as I was unsure of the process. Sherry made the whole experience super fun and exciting. With my price range in mind, she made sure to only show me dresses I could afford. She assisted me with getting the dresses on and off with ease, and made sure my family was relaxed and comfortable while I was changing. After lots of fun trying on all different types of dresses, I had found the one. After saying “yes to the dress” she had a sparkling drink toast to celebrate with my group of 6! Thank you so much Sherry for really making me feel like a bride! I highly recommend her services.

Lockhart's was a great place to shop for my bridal gown. I had trouble deciding between two dresses that had quite a gap in the price tags. They were very helpful while I was choosing - without pressure to buy the more expensive dress. Such friendly service!!

I went all the way from Moncton to Sussex to get my wedding dress because I was in love with Maggie Sottero dresses! It was worth it, the dress was beautiful and the staff at lockhart was really nice.
