Meet the team
Amanda comes from a family with a long history of avid seamstresses, artists and hobby sewers. She has always had a love for creating beautiful art both in traditional media, photography, and of course fashion. As a young 20-something, Amanda enrolled and spent time in British Columbia attending fashion design through the Art Institute of Vancouver. In late 2017 Amanda opened an alterations and design studio in Blackfalds, Alberta named Miss Sew It All. The studio quickly grew in popularity and was renowned for premiere customer service. While running Miss Sew It All, Amanda entered the emerging designer competition during Western Canada Fashion Week in Edmonton. Amanda took 3rd place in this initial showing and was invited back to unveil her first official collection. She unveiled her initial collection, “Wonderland”, at the 2019 Western Canada Fashion Week. The collections featured 6 custom one-off gowns/dresses and received an overwhelming amount of support. Amanda was then invited to show the collection at an additional Western Canada Fashion Week in Calgary where she unveiled a 7th gown to be added to the collection.
Since then Amanda has officially launched the “Royal Miss” brand and with it her in-home design & alterations studio in Blackfalds, Alberta. Royal Miss will continue to produce exciting new collections of custom gowns and more in addition to providing high-end alterations services for grad, bridal and formal clients.
When Amanda isn’t designing or creating she enjoys spending time with her daughter Anya, husband Brian, and Boston Terrier Jemma. Amanda also volunteers on a number of organizations within Blackfalds including the Economic Development & Tourism Committee and as the current President of the Optimist Club of Blackfalds.
