Meet the team
I am the owner and lead designer here at Blackberry Stone Floral Design Studio. Before opening this studio I worked as a florist for over 5 years in Hamilton, Scotland, and England. My floral design career began by chance when I found a part-time jobs as a floral clerk while attending McMaster University. When I traveled to the UK after completing school I worked as a florist in both Glasgow and Oxford and continued to learn and grow as a floral designer. When I returned to Canada I continued to gain experience working at a local florist before opening my own studio.
My favourite style of floristry are hand-tie style bouquets that are popular in England. Some of my favourite flowers are lilacs, stocks, delphinium, lisianthus, and caspia. I love to work with seasonal and locally grown flowers whenever possible. I am also continually striving to make environmentally conscience choices in my work whenever possible.
