Based out of Okotoks, Alberta and also covering Calgary, Michelle Suffolk Hair & Makeup is a freelance makeup and hair styling company that is available for wedding celebrations. Owner, Michelle, received the best hair designer 2013, 2014 and 2015 in the wedding industry experts awards and is also often seen participating in the Bridal Expo and the Wedding Fair - Calgary.

Experience

Michelle has nineteen years of experience as a hairdresser and fourteen years as a makeup artist. She received her training in Liverpool, England where she earned her qualifications in makeup, hair, lashes and spray tanning. Michelle and her husband then moved to Calgary where she received her Canadian Red Seal licence for hair so she could also work in TV and film as well as offer cutting and hair colouring services to brides.

Services offered

Michelle's services include hair styling, makeup and tanning for brides-to-be and their parties. Multiple stylists can be provided to accommodate groups of various sizes. In addition, to ensure complete satisfaction on the day-of, trial and on-site service can be provided. They specialize in blowouts, colouring, haircuts, perms, updos and styling.

Amazing choice for our wedding day hair

I really didn’t have much of a definitive idea for Michelle when she came to do my hair the morning of my wedding. Due to COVID I had to find a new hairstylist for my wedding day and I didn’t want to pay for another trial for my hair. Michelle had no problem with this and was so amazingly professional. I showed her a few pictures on Pinterest and my dress and she had my hair up in the most perfect up-do in no time. My hair lasted all day without needing any adjustments. Michelle also did my matron of honours hair and it looked absolutely stunning in no time at all. Highly recommend her for any event

My hair and makeup withstood a snow storm!

How do you say thank-you to someone who managed to make you look beautiful and did it so well it survived through photos and an outdoor ceremony during a snow storm?
Michelle is far and away worth every single penny you spend on her skills and talents! She was able to take my vision, made it work with my hair and skin tone, and brought it all together on the big day. Her suggestions to help accommodate the weather were on point and her work was beyond compare. Seriously, go with a pro for your hair and makeup. You won't regret hiring Michelle!

We loved Michelle!

Michelle was easy to communicate with, super friendly and easy to get along with, and flexible. When we had our trial run, I said "I love my hair, but maybe when we do it for real, we can make this little change" and she whipped all the bobby pins out and made the change right then and there. The trial run took longer than the Big Day, which she told us would be the case. We had lots of time on the day. My hair and makeup stayed perfect all afternoon and night, despite quite a bit of rain during the day and quite a bit of dancing during the evening! I felt her prices were very reasonable, and I felt beautiful! I would highly recommend Michelle!

Amazing hair and makeup artist!

Michelle did wedding makeup for myself and 7 of my girls, and 4 of their hair. I was so amazed at how fast yet detailed and beautiful everything turned out! We were all so happy with our looks. As for myself, I showed her 2 quick pictures from Pinterest for my makeup and she did an absolutely amazing job capturing my look. And my hair was gorgeous, and I even had a dual hairstyle! I had a low chignon for my ceremony and then (with some quick removal of bobby pins by my sister) I was able to let it down for a half-up half-down look for my reception—it was exactly what I wanted. My mother looked amazing and said she has never felt that beautiful in a long time, and I am so appreciative of that! Overall, Michelle is an experienced and professional hair and makeup artist and I would recommend her to anyone with groups big or small to make your wedding beauty dreams come true. Thank you, Michelle!

Beautiful Wedding Hair & Make-up

Michelle and her team did such a fantastic job on our hair and makeup for our wedding. They truly catered to the preferences of each of the bridesmaids and everyone was very happy with their look. Our photos turned out beautifully. Michelle is very professional and I would highly recommend her.

Michelle was absolutely amazing and a joy to be around. She came in to do mine and my m.o.h hair and makeup. She ended up being able to do another bridesmaids and the grooms mum without hesitation. She was able to do what I thought I wanted and made it so much more beautiful.
