Mountain Beauties was ok to work with. I struggled to get in touch with them before my wedding day which led to me not getting exactly what I wanted for my hair but it was still beautiful! My girls and the two moms loved their hair and makeup! Joanne was able to work with the girls who had too high expectations for their hair and Cecilia did a fantastic job with our makeup!

Andrea did such a beautiful job on makeup for my best friend’s wedding! She adapted a photo I found to suit me and made lots of suggestions, was super efficient and did her best to accommodate everyone’s requests within the allotted time. She is very skilled and does amazing work and she is also very funny! I would totally recommend. Thanks so much, Andrea!

Unprofessional, awful communication, no punctuality, unkind, immature, overpriced, inappropriate, the list goes on and on. Joanne, the owner, is in complete denial about her companies flaws and refused to take accountability for her businesses errors on my wedding date. After several failed attempts at getting a hold of Joanne, she finally called me, 3 weeks PAST my wedding day. The conversation was useless, she lied, denied and blamed everyone else for her companies mistakes. She yelled at me, criticized me, called me emotional, and told the most outrageous stories and lies to save face.

I paid $50 per stylist (2 stylists) for an early morning fee (7:30am start time as per contract) and both stylists were late. Makeup was 15 mins and hair stylist over an hour late. I told Joanne that I deserved my $100 back and she said an early morning fee just means they start before 8:30am. The contract meant absolutely nothing to her. After an hour long phone call, she finally agreed to give my $100.00 back then took her sweet time sending it. Again, attempted phone calls, messages and multiple people reaching out before she sent the money.

Joanne claimed that she told my planner the night before that Nikki (hair stylist) would be arriving late, this was a complete LIE as I was with my wedding planner for the entire conversation and none of that was mentioned. I also had an email from Joanne confirming the start time, a signed contract with her and even that wasn't enough for her to admit that she messed up. This mess up cost me an hour of my first look and photography time. Joanne also told me that services can run 45 minutes past the contract End Time. I asked her to show me where that was listed in the contract, and she said it's not in the contract. She told me that since my service was done before the End Time, that it wasn't their fault I waited for my bridal party, and the moms to be done their services. Andrea's makeup was the only good thing about the company. Nikki could not make any of the hair styles look anything like what people asked for. Joanne told me that my expectations were too high. I paid over $2000.00 for "too high expectations". That was 7 hair and 6 makeup. Most of the styles were rushed, fell apart and still they were 45 minutes past the agreed contract time.

I could write pages about how awful they were to deal with. I wish I read through all the bad reviews before hiring them because I could have avoided the biggest regret of my wedding day. They ruined my morning, stressed me out and did not make me feel special on my big day.

There are no words that could adequately thank Joanne & Nicky for our hair and makeup on our wedding day. It was EXACTLY what I had envisioned...I have never felt more beautiful in my entire life. Joanne and Nicky did hair and makeup for myself, 6 bridesmaids, and my mother. Each and every one of them LOVED their hair and makeup. Thank you so much for everything! Highly recommend you booking them for your wedding!

Big shout out to Joanne and Andrea for their hair and makeup services. They instantly meshed and fit in with the girls seamlessly, it was like getting ready with a big group of girlfriends. Joanne also made a diligent effort to ensure as the bride I was taken care of personally. She helped run some family interference and I am so grateful. If you want a straight up, no nonsense, and damn good at their job team hire them!

Mountain beauties were overall great. I was able to change the start time for hair & makeup without any issues. The only disappointing thing was the hair dresser showed up 2 hours late. She was able to finish our hair on time but everything fell out half way through the night. Things happen and it is not the end of the world but an e-mail apologizing for the mishap would of gone a long way. The makeup girl was 10/10 thank you Andrea!

We had Joanne, the owner, doing our hair and Cecilia doing our makeup for 4 of us, plus hair for our little flower girl. These ladies were SUCH a joy to be around and a great fit for our group!! If you're ready to laugh, girl gossip and actually enjoy the morning of your wedding, go with them. The quality of their work was also spectacular. My hair and makeup still looked perfect by the end of the night after some wind during the day and lots of dancing, and I got a ton of compliments on the work. But what drove it home for me was the fact that I did not book hair and makeup for my mother, as she really just wanted to "do it herself" because she's never really had her hair and makeup done. She was too worrried about not having control over what it would look like and not looking like herself. After seeing us, my mom decided it would have been nice to get a little done. Both Cecelia and Joanne then did a quick face and hair for my mom, complimentary, and assured us it was no problem. I couldn't believe it. We were so incredibly thankful that they would do that and it made the day all the more special for us for my mom to feel so good too. THANK YOU again. I highly recommend!!

Joanne and Cecilia were such a great team! They did an incredible job on hair and makeup for myself and everyone involved in my wedding! They turned our inspiration photos into reality and made me truly feel like a princess. I highly recommend them for your Canmore or Banff wedding!

I hired Mountain Beauties for our wedding which was rescheduled due to Covid. We paid over 500 dollars in deposit. I had a very hard time booking with them, getting a hold of them to try and reschedule - basically they were always hard to get a hold of and I was always following up. They seemed very disorganized with no urgency to respond, even to initially book. After replanning a wedding 3 times we decided to elope.
I reached out about our deposit and obviously it is non-refundable - which is understanding. They only offered that I could come down and get hair and makeup services done on just myself. I asked if a friend of mine could use the deposit for makeup only - a service of $120. The owner never responded to my message. It seemed a fair trade that they got over 500 dollars to perform a 120 service to use the full deposit. The customer service from this company is horrible. They are not flexible, or accommodating and I would seriously reconsider before booking with them.

I understand it is a very hard time in the wedding industry - but it is also hard as a bride who has lost out on the wedding of their dreams and multiple deposits. As other vendors have been amazing to deal with, I think a little compassion and decency to even reply to messages is not a lot to ask for given the state of our world.

Joanne and Andrea did an absolutely amazing job for my wedding hair and makeup! They were so great to spend that special getting ready time with, they were funny and chatty! My hair stayed in ALL DAY perfectly, even with windy conditions. My makeup also stayed on perfectly all day, and did not crease or feel heavy on my face at all. Worth every penny!
