Beautiful hair and makeup!

Mountain Beauties was ok to work with. I struggled to get in touch with them before my wedding day which led to me not getting exactly what I wanted for my hair but it was still beautiful! My girls and the two moms loved their hair and makeup! Joanne was able to work with the girls who had too high expectations for their hair and Cecilia did a fantastic job with our makeup!

Mountain Beauties was ok to work with. I struggled to get in touch with them before my wedding day which led to me not getting exactly what I wanted for my hair but it was still beautiful! Terrible customer pre-event service

Once booked, the customer service close to our wedding was terrible for our booking and I had to initiate any contact about whether they would be coming on my big day. After reading other negative reviews, after paying my deposit, I was very nervous if they actually show as I didn't hear from them. Day of event, the hairstyle quality was excellent and make-up was good but one was personable, I am unclear if the other wanted to be there. Considering it's a very special day, that you pay a lot of money for, and book a year out - more communication about the booking (3 months, 1 month, or a week prior to) would have been great. Never heard from their new booker for an invoice amendment but be sure I got charged. If you are a super nervous bride, find a vendor who communicates better. Day of services made up for lack of booking communication.

Andrea did such a beautiful job on makeup for my best friend’s wedding! She adapted a photo I found to suit me and made lots of suggestions, was super efficient and did her best to accommodate everyone’s requests within the allotted time. She is very skilled and does amazing work and she is also very funny! I would totally recommend. Thanks so much, Andrea!

Such a great experience!

I was a bridesmaid this month and the bride hired mountain beauties. Such a wonderful experience! Joanne and team did such a great job everyone looked amazing throughout the whole day and night. They were friendly, in and out quickly and helped make the bride feel at ease. I would definitely call them up if I was getting married.

Made my day

MB did my hair and make up for my wedding. Not only did I feel flawless my wedding party did as well. (6pl in total) Joanne and her staff made a point to take note of my ideas and likes and worked with me to create the exact look I was dreaming of. Joanne also did a fabulous job of organizing the day, she took charge when needed and ensured that I was the focus of the day and that everything kept moving and was done on time. I have never felt so pampered and important. Joanne also helped me trouble shoot some last minute hiccups that cropped up on the day of and I appreciate her expertise and experience as it helped to smooth things out quickly, so I could get back to enjoying my day. I am so great full for the hard work put into my day. This was worth every Penny and I would choose MB over and over again. Thanks ladies you are truly artists and masters of your trade.

Feeling Beautiful

I got married in September, and hired Andrea from Mountain Beauties to do mine (Bride) and my 3 Sisters (Bridesmaids) makeup. She gave us exactly what we wanted and we all felt absolutely beautiful for the whole day and night. We photographed perfectly, but we’re not over done. Andrea is fun, friendly and listens to your wants, and delivers gorgeous results. Thanks for helping make our big day even more special 🥰

Where do I begin... AMAZING!

The entire team at Mountain Beauties is absolutely wonderful! From the very beginning with booking their services for my wedding all the way through to the day of. As I'm sure you know, weddings can be very stressful and there are a lot of decisions to make, but these wonderful artists helped answer all questions I had and gave advice and opinions along the way, which made my life way easier. I even had a few girls getting ready with me the day of who weren't scheduled to get their hair and make up done and they offered to do them too! WE LOOKED AMAZING! Very punctual, very professional, and also very fun to work with. It felt like they were part of my big day! I cannot recommend these ladies more. Joanne and her team are Rockstars. Thanks again Mountain Beauties!

Lacklustre at best

I love writing glowing reviews but unfortunately this was a lukewarm experience. I reached out to Mountain Beauties a year and half before my Canmore wedding and at the time there was a reasonable response time. Things took a turn once my deposit was received. Firstly, let me say that this review is not reflective of Nikishia because she was incredible and my bridal makeup turned out exactly how I wanted. I highly recommend her work!

The lacklustre score has more to do with the business' communication or should I say lack there of. I emailed Joanne to schedule a bridal trial but never heard back until I called her directly two weeks later. She made promises to put me in a group chat with herself as well as a hair and makeup artist but did not do so until I messaged her directly to remind her. Nikishia responded immediately once I made contact but I heard very little from the other artist. Seeing as I would be paying full price for this trial I wanted hair and makeup done on the same day to see the full look, but again saw no effort from the hair stylist or Joanne to mitigate the situation in a timely fashion. Frustrated with the delays I decide not to do the trial.

A few weeks prior I emailed Joanne to confirm my booking and asked if I could send a few photos seeing as I never had a trial and wanted the artists to have a complete idea of what I wanted and offer professional suggestions. Zero response. I then texted her a few days before our wedding to confirm, but still no response until I requested a final time that I needed to know to give me peace of mind and she just stated that she would review my email. Come wedding day they were almost 20 minutes late to our session. I would be more understanding if I received a text saying they would be late. I was then told that the hair style I originally wanted would not hold up which was a bit frustrating because for this reason I wanted to do a trial or at the very least send pictures. Joanne did my hair and it turned out fine but wasn't exactly what I was imagining or hoping for and due to time constraints there was little time to pivot. Overall, I'm disappointed in the lack of time management and communication. In the future please at the very least send a short and sweet response. This would alleviate so many problems and poor reviews. I would recommend future Canmore brides to look elsewhere. Weddings are stressful enough on there own and this just added another item to worry about.

Biggest regret was hiring them.

Unprofessional, awful communication, no punctuality, unkind, immature, overpriced, inappropriate, the list goes on and on. Joanne, the owner, is in complete denial about her companies flaws and refused to take accountability for her businesses errors on my wedding date. After several failed attempts at getting a hold of Joanne, she finally called me, 3 weeks PAST my wedding day. The conversation was useless, she lied, denied and blamed everyone else for her companies mistakes. She yelled at me, criticized me, called me emotional, and told the most outrageous stories and lies to save face.

I paid $50 per stylist (2 stylists) for an early morning fee (7:30am start time as per contract) and both stylists were late. Makeup was 15 mins and hair stylist over an hour late. I told Joanne that I deserved my $100 back and she said an early morning fee just means they start before 8:30am. The contract meant absolutely nothing to her. After an hour long phone call, she finally agreed to give my $100.00 back then took her sweet time sending it. Again, attempted phone calls, messages and multiple people reaching out before she sent the money.

Joanne claimed that she told my planner the night before that Nikki (hair stylist) would be arriving late, this was a complete LIE as I was with my wedding planner for the entire conversation and none of that was mentioned. I also had an email from Joanne confirming the start time, a signed contract with her and even that wasn't enough for her to admit that she messed up. This mess up cost me an hour of my first look and photography time. Joanne also told me that services can run 45 minutes past the contract End Time. I asked her to show me where that was listed in the contract, and she said it's not in the contract. She told me that since my service was done before the End Time, that it wasn't their fault I waited for my bridal party, and the moms to be done their services. Andrea's makeup was the only good thing about the company. Nikki could not make any of the hair styles look anything like what people asked for. Joanne told me that my expectations were too high. I paid over $2000.00 for "too high expectations". That was 7 hair and 6 makeup. Most of the styles were rushed, fell apart and still they were 45 minutes past the agreed contract time.
