So, you’ve got some shiny new bling and you’re ready to start planning the wedding of your dreams? While some couples take their time to tie the knot others want to get to that altar ASAP. If you fall into the latter category, congratulations, there are so many advantages! Forget about planning for months and months and enjoy your short and sweet wedding planning journey.

Here are a few reasons why short engagements are awesome.

You don’t have to wait
You got engaged! You’re excited! You’re raring to go! And, guess what? You don’t have to wait. While taking your sweet time to get hitched is all fine and well, it’s easy to become impatient as the months roll by. With a short engagement you won’t have to time to get antsy, you’ll be at that altar in the blink of an eye.

It’ll be like one non-stop party
Typically couples take months to get through all of the pre-wedding showers and bashes - but that won’t be the case with your engagement! All of your events will happen within the span of a few weeks, making life feel like one big party. Seriously, you probably won’t go a weekend without some type of event, so be prepared for the rollercoaster ride of fun that’s on the horizon.

You’ll zero in on what really matters
Because you’re putting your wedding together in a small amount of time, you’ll need to focus on what really matters to you. You’ll need to work quickly and diligently, with your eyes firmly fixed on the light at the end of the tunnel. Getting the core things together quickly is key with a short engagement, so you won’t have time to hum and haw, you’ll just need to get the job done.

It can be less expensive
Keep in mind that a wedding is going to be a big investment no matter how long you take to plan it, but it’s definitely easy to cut costs with a shorter engagement. You’ll probably have to buy your gowns and tuxedos off the rack instead of having them custom made and you’ll most likely have to go with flowers that your florist knows will be in the shop instead of planning elaborate tropical arrangements that’ll need to be shipped in from far far away. This will add fewer zeroes to your bottom line, leaving you more money to play with on your honeymoon.

You won’t have time to become a bridezilla
It can take a while to awaken an inner bridezilla, and you just simply won’t have the time for that. Because you’re working on a short deadline you’ll have to keep your head down and your hustle strong. While you may have a few fleeting moments of bossiness, you probably won’t ever transform into a full-fledged bridezilla (and your friends and fiancé(e) will be thrilled about that!).
