Now’s the moment you’ve been waiting for. You’re suited and booted, you’ve got your best buds by your side and you’re ready to say your “I dos”. We know you’re raring to go, but hold on just a second! There are few last minute things you’ll want to take care of before you head into your ceremony venue.

Here are a fews things grooms need to do right before heading to the altar.

Give your vows a once-over
You’ve probably practiced your vows a thousand times, but it doesn’t hurt to give ‘em one last go before your moment in the spotlight. You want to say them with confidence and having an extra readthrough can make all the difference.

Have a power snack
Yes, you probably had a killer brunch or lunch with your groomsmen the morning of your wedding, but you may need a bit of extra fuel to get your through your big day. Skip fast food - that’s just asking for a stain! - and go with something like a granola bar or trail mix, instead. Don’t forget to sip on some water, too. Hydration is key.

Hit the restroom
You can’t really go for a bathroom break in the middle of your vows, so do your business beforehand. This will also give you the opportunity to give your teeth a quick brush or gargle some mouthwash. Your S.O. will appreciate your minty fresh breath during that first kiss!

Check yourself out
You laboured over finding and tailoring the perfect ensemble for your big day, so nothing should look out of place. Before you leave your dressing room give yourself a quick once-over. You don’t want to be rocking a crooked tie or crumpled pocket square.

Give the rings to the right person
If you’re not carrying the rings, make sure the right person has them in their hands before you head out. They’re probably safe and secure, but it’ll take away a bit of stress if you check in with your best man or ring bearer beforehand. These are your wedding’s most important accessories, so the last thing you want is for them to go MIA.

Know the game plan
Traditionally, the groom helps escort a few of the VIPs to their seats before making his way to the altar. Make sure you know your route - you will have practiced it during the rehearsal - so that you’re not awkwardly darting around in front of all your guests before the ceremony kicks off.

Turn off your phone
Wagner’s “Bridal Chorus” is romantic. Ed Sheeran’s smash hit “Thinking Out Loud” is romantic. Your iPhone ringtone? Not romantic. Make sure you turn off your phone - or at least put it on airplane mode - before you find your spot at the altar. You won’t be texting during your ceremony, so you can even leave it behind in your dressing room or hand it off to your right hand man for safe keeping while you say your “I dos”.

Find your zen
Breathe in, breathe out and let it all go. Sure, you’re probably still a little nervous, but don’t mistake your jitters for cold feet. Keep your eye on the prize and remember that you’re about to get hitched to your best friend.
