Great hair and makeup service from Emerald Beauty for myself and my bridesmaids. They were punctual and super friendly. I had one trial with them which was very helpful. Quality of service was excellent.

Alyson surpassed my expectations with my hair and makeup. I'm not one to do my own hair and makeup very much so I was worried about not looking like myself, but Alyson listened to everything I said and asked for and she delivered! She was professional but also very endearing and great to talk to. I would recommend her services to anyone in a heartbeat.

As a bride, how I looked on my wedding day was definitely one of my top priorities during the planning process. I came across Alyson after looking for local artists that would be willing to travel to the location I would be getting ready at. I booked a trial with Alyson and went to her condo. I showed her one picture of what I was thinking of for my hair, and she went to work. She nailed it on the first try! Needless to say that made me very confident. Next, we did the makeup. I asked for a “natural bridal glow.” She offered suggestions on what would work best with my skin tone while also taking my preferences into consideration. Alyson was the only artist I trialed with that did airbrush foundation — it made my skin look so natural and smooth without the powdery or painted finish that sometimes comes with regular foundations. When we were done the trial and I was happy with the look, she took pictures of everything so if I decided to book she would be able to reference MY trial and not just a stock photo from google.

I decided to book Alyson for my wedding within the week of my trial. I definitely appreciated that every email I sent was responded to within 24 hours, she is efficient and friendly, and is also very affordable! The makeup she uses is quality stuff and my sensitive skin did not react at all!

On the day of the wedding, Alyson arrived early to set up the hair and makeup stations and was very efficient. We had 4 girls getting their hair and makeup done. One of the girls had a last minute change to their hairstyle and she still finished early which really took the stress out of the day. She was well received by all the ladies in the party and was super friendly and relaxed. The 4 ladies in the group were all different ages and skin tones but we all looked amazing! She really knows her stuff! I looked stunning on my wedding day and received many compliments on my makeup and hair. The emergency makeup touchup kit that she made up for me with the breath mint and the blotting paper was super cute as well. If you are looking for a quality hair and makeup artist for your day, Alyson is definitely worth looking into!

Alyson did the make-up and hair for my and my 4 bridesmaids for my wedding.
She showed up on time, as prepared, and actually had all 5 of us done early. Her and the help she brought were pleasant and we all enjoyed the process.

I had my makeup and hair done for a friends wedding and Alyson and her team were great thoughout the entire process. Alyson was patient with me from the beginning, answering all my questions and carefully explaining the contract and how the schedule for the day would look. Alyson and her team showed up early and set up their kit while we showed them some examples of the looks we were going for and they nailed it. I wanted full coverage but while still looking natural. I had so many compliments and so did the other girls in the bridal party. I hope to have another event where I can use emerald beauty again and would highly recommend them.

My experience started off well with Alyson (although more expensive than other vendors). I paid the deposit and went for my trial around 3 months before my wedding. The trial makeup and hair were not what I was expecting. I felt like I could have done my makeup better. (No setting powder was used. I wanted contour on my forehead and nose, but was told
"it was not needed". I looked extremely pale and my face ended up looking way more round than it normally is). I looked like a completely different person, and not in a good way! I ended up very disappointed and in a panic of what to do…after a long decision, I decided to email and cancel my booking. I sent a very polite email and did discuss a potential partial refund as I was just hoping to get back some of the over $600 that I had put in. The email was met with a complete lack of unprofessionalism. I was told that she was "horrified that I would cancel without communicating with her first", that "clearly I had already made my decision", that she is "heartbroken that (without any prior communication) I would cancel my booking". No one should be shamed for not liking the way something was done or made to feel guilty. I felt like I was getting bullied for trying to cancel. Needless to say I am VERY happy I cancelled when I did and didn’t allow my wedding day to have this grey cloud of disappointment over it. (I did not receive a refund as I had unfortunately signed a contract).

I had a great experience from the trial all the way until the wedding day. I even went through Allyson to get extensions for my wedding, and she gave me advice on dying it when I texted her randomly one day.

On the day of the wedding, they were efficient and amazing to have around – good vibes all around! Allyson was kind enough to make a schedule so it was extremely easy for my bridesmaids to organize their mornings accordingly – no time was wasted.

We had two makeup artists for our wedding day and they were both FANTASTIC. Everyone looked absolutely perfect all day long! Alyson even stayed later to help with some hair touch-ups even though we had only booked her for makeup! Very friendly, and quick to respond - we couldn’t have been happier!
