If I could do my wedding day all over again, I would not hire Mink. It started out really well when I had my initial consult with the owner last year. I told her my concerns of not wanting to look too made up and she booked me their senior stylist Andrea and 3 other stylists (Fatima, Ali and Brandon) for my bridesmaids, sister and stepmom. Here are the issues we had.

- Andrea wasn't very responsive with her emails. She left me hanging a few times and I just had to let it go, thinking she was just busy or forgot to respond. At my trial, she didn't do a full look with my hair. To be fair, we played around with half up/half down, and a bun. She said on the wedding day, she would curl my hair early in the day and leave them in curlers so they add more volume to my hair and the curls would last longer. She did not put my hair in curlers on the wedding day. She also said she would cut the ribbons off the hair band after she tied it around my hair but she just tied it in a big ribbon and it stuck out from under the curls. My maid of honour had to cut it off herself.

- I have psoriasis, which is triggered by heavy stress. Naturally, I had a big spot on my face around my lip. When I do my makeup around it, I prep it with lots of moisture and bio-oil and dab in some foundation with a wet sponge. This helps the dry skin not stand out so much and flake. I expressed my concerns to Andrea. She wouldn't let me use my bio-oil to prep the skin. Instead, she said she would use a silicone based primer on it. Well, whatever she used, it enhanced the dry spot and made it so obvious and really gross looking. After she left, I ended up wiping off the makeup around that area, moisturized it heavily and dabbed on my own makeup. There was no way I was going to walk down the aisle looking like that and I can't believe she thought her work would be acceptable!

- My bridesmaids never got setting spray on their makeup. Two of them had their lashes falling off before the ceremony even began (one of them didn't even get mascara to prep her lashes before the falsies went on). Another had uneven eyeliner and my sister had to rip out her lashes because whoever did her makeup did not use liner to create a clean look with the lashes. Even my brother, who knows nothing about makeup, said there's something not right with how her eye makeup looked.

- There was no real person at the company I could speak with. Everything was sent through an automated email. Even if you email their mink booking Gmail account, no one responds. Closer to the wedding day, I wasn't sure who would be making the hair and makeup timeline for the morning. In the past, the stylist was the one who made it and sent it to us. Mink did not do that. They assigned me a "booking agent" named Tracy. I emailed them about the timeline but I never got a response.

- The team was late. They scheduled themselves to arrive at 6:15am and to begin at 6:30am. 2 arrived at 6:30 and the other two didn't walk in until after 7. I tried to be positive about it and when the girls and I finished with plenty of time to spare before photos, I thought GREAT! Well, we had plenty of time to spare because they rushed through my bridesmaids (NO SETTING SPRAY??? COME ON...) so they'd be done "on time".

I would not recommend this company. Brides, please consider using someone else. You are better off receiving outstanding personal service from Abby Lim from At First Blush, which we've used 2x in the past. I wish I had stayed with her this time around.

Mink was absolutely amazing, my makeup and hair were flawless and I was so happy how it turned out. My mom and bridesmaids also looked exceptional as well, they were on time and very professional and provided everything we asked for.

Andrea did my makeup and it was the perfect look. My skin tone is hard to work with- I have brown skin and it has both cool and warm tones. Its been always hard for me to find the right makeup, but Andrea gave me the perfect look and I absolutely loved it. She understood all my concerns and worked with them. She was very flexible and incorporated all my suggestions. Would recommend wholeheartedly to any future brides :)

Pretty good ideas but could be a little better

Ting and her associates did an amazing job on hair and makeup for myself and my bridesmaids! As someone who only manages to put on mascara and a bit of cover up most days I was worried about my face looking too 'made up' on my wedding day, but Ting did a perfect job at my trial and again on my wedding day of giving me a 'natural' look that still made me feel beautiful. My hair was also a major highlight of my bridal look thanks to Ting's talented work! Nury and Sarah did an impeccable job of hair and makeup on my bridesmaids and even had them done ahead of schedule! Great experience from start to finish!

I had the pleasure of working with Ting for both my engagement photos and my wedding. The makeup crew that did my bridesmaids were amazing and truly took the time to give each bridesmaid a personable experience. Ting is incredibly talented and captured exactly what I envisioned and exceeded my expectations!

Tracey did such a fabulous job on my wedding hair and makeup! She provided the perfect look I had wanted to go for: a touch of glamour yet still looked like myself! I was quite nervous about my trial because i had bad experiences in the past getting my hair and makeup done, but Tracey quickly put me at ease with her professionalism, patience, and expertise. The trial session went overtime, yet Tracey wanted to ensure the look was perfect for the wedding day! On the wedding day, my hair and makeup turned out better than I expected and she made the changes i asked for perfectly.
During my afternoon photoshoot, I stood in the rain without an umbrella (for the sake of good photos) and was happy to see that my makeup was perfectly intact afterwards! It lasted all day until 1am, and barely needed touchups! Furthermore, my bridesmaids were raving about their hair and makeup and said it was even better than what they had for their own weddings! I would highly recommend Mink (and Tracey) to any bride or bridesmaid!

After looking at several different companies and makeup artists for my wedding, I came across Mink Makeup. They offer excellent services for a great value. I had Tracey as my primary stylist (both makeup and hair), and met with her in advance to do a trial. She seemed to know exactly what I was describing, and after looking at a few photos I brought, she created a beautiful look that was just what I was looking for. Leading up to the wedding, emails were answered quickly and professionally. Mink Makeup used an online system to book and pay for services, which made it really easy to sign the contract, keep track of how much had been paid and how much remained, and just ensure that there were no surprises on the day of. On the day of the wedding, Tracey brought along 2 other "junior" stylists, who did the hair and makeup for my bridal party (3 bridesmaids). Mink Makeup makes sure that they send enough staff to get all your party wedding-ready in a reasonable amount of time, which helps keep stress levels down. The team arrived on time, brought all their supplies and did our hair and makeup in our hotel room, so we could be comfortable and not have to worry about rushing around to different locations. Everyone looked beautiful, and the makeup and hair lasted all day and night, even after dancing. I was very impressed with Mink Makeup, and recommended them to a friend who got married this summer. Again, they did a great job for her wedding too! I would definitely recommend Mink to any upcoming brides :)

There were definitely a LOT of things that went wrong on my wedding day but hiring Mink and Becky was one of the few that went right. She worked with our schedule and did an amazing job on myself and my bridesmaids. She made sure to take photos of everything we did in the trial and needed pretty much no direction from me when we started on the day of the wedding. She got what I was aiming from right off the bat and did an amazing job! The make up even lasted through brunch the next morning.

I stumbled across JennyV on Facebook when I was looking for makeup for our engagement shoot. I was really happy with the makeup she did- it lasted so long and photographed so well! I ended up hiring her and her team for my wedding day makeup and hair. I had a trial beforehand, so did my mother in law and mother, and everyone was so happy. She did exactly what I wanted and had pictured! I also appreciated that she used her out of office in her emails as I found many wedding vendors didn’t do this. I would recommend her and her team!
