Severe lack of Integrity
I am extremely disappointed with the lack of integrity and professionalism from the owner of Mobile Makeovers, Alexandra, as well as her lack of ethical business practices. I am aware this is an extremely long review; however, I hope that by sharing my experience I am able to inform other brides considering Mobile Makeovers for their wedding day. My relationship with this company is long and complex, but ultimately, I will summarize the series of events that led to my dissatisfaction with the makeup services provided and, more importantly, the questionable manner in which Alexandra conducts her business to take advantage of unsuspecting brides.
As with most other brides, I put a lot of research into choosing a company to hire for makeup for my wedding day. With the almost perfect 5-star review from over 220 people at the time, I had full confidence in Mobile Makeovers. Unfortunately, issues began from the start when, in the process of booking and paying for Alexandra’s services, she emailed me to say she was no longer available as she had accepted payment from another bride for the same day. Instead, she recommended that I hire her assistant, Annie, through Mobile Makeovers. To be clear, I hired Annie through Mobile Makeovers and was told by Alexandra that she would receive a kickback for Annie’s work on my wedding day, as this is the industry standard. This was negotiated and confirmed through email correspondence between Alexandra and myself. As I do not have any experience with the wedding industry and was under the impression that Mobile Makeovers was a reputable company, I agreed to the terms outlined by Alexandra and paid the deposit requested on my Mobile Makeovers invoice directly to Alexandra.
Leading up to the wedding day, Alexandra and I corresponded several times regarding logistics for the wedding day. We discussed Annie’s schedule for the day and I was asked to pay the outstanding balance directly to Annie.
On the day of the wedding, my bridesmaids and I did not receive the service that was agreed upon between Alexandra and myself. Annie did not finish the makeup within the required time (only 3 out of 5 of us were ready by the requested time) which affected all of our getting ready photos and video and added undue stress. In addition, there were many other displays of unprofessionalism from Annie throughout the day (i.e., arriving 30 minutes late, making inappropriate and offensive comments to the bridal party, inability to manage her time), which I felt it necessary to bring forward to Alexandra, as the owner of the company I had hired for my wedding day.
However, when these concerns were brought forward to Alexandra, she claimed that Mobile Makeovers was not responsible. She said she referred Annie as a friend and when I agreed to the terms and paid the Mobile Makeovers invoice, I was in fact hiring Annie as a free agent. Alexandra stated she was only collecting the money for the sake of simplicity and she did not receive any profit from my wedding. I cannot confirm this is the truth, as I do not know what happened to the money from the initial deposit I had transferred to Alexandra. What I can confirm and verify with emails is that Alexandra had set the rates for the services consistent with Mobile Makeovers and told me that she will receive a kickback from Annie’s work for my wedding.
After trying to discuss these conflicting terms of agreement with Alexandra, I was told that she had clearly stated that I was hiring Annie as a free agent and she did not receive any profit from my wedding; again, I can confirm otherwise with emails. In the end, Alexandra disregarded my concerns and refused to address them by passing off responsibility to her employee and falsifying the terms of our agreement. Mobile Makeovers is not registered with the Better Business Bureau, so my only recourse is to write this review to share my experience here.
Truthfully, it is upsetting to write this review but I do not want other brides to have the same negative experience I had. The lessons I have learned from this, and which I hope to pass on to other brides, is to ensure you ALWAYS sign a contract with ANY company you hire. Five-star reviews are not enough to validate the efficacy and integrity of a company, or a person.
I would not recommend Mobile Makeovers to any bride or individual looking to hire a “professional” makeup company.

Unfortunately your planner did not book me in time with a deposit so yes I took another wedding. I referred you to a friend which you loved after your trial run with her. After that it was between the two of you. You paid her on the day not me.

Hi again Alexandra, Thank you again for both of your prompt replies and attention to this matter. I am so sorry to have involved you as I was under the impression Annie was representing your company on the day of the wedding. I had no idea the contract was passed to Annie as a free agent as you had negotiated and drafted the invoice and I had the trial under Mobile Makeovers. This is why I was continually communicating with you throughout the entire process, including planning the logistics for the day and timing required for Annie to complete makeup for the 5 of us. It was obviously a misunderstanding and in any case, it now makes sense as to why you told me to transfer the money directly to Annie for the final payment. As I mentioned, I was hesitant to send this email as it is not my intention to offend anyone or make them feel bad. I now feel terrible for disclosing this information to you as your company was not involved. In the end, as you said, Annie did make us look beautiful and I am happy with the look in our photos.
