Happy with MUAH Outcome; Not Happy with Posting on Social Media

Noor is talented and executed exactly what I asked for, however, what I did not appreciate was her defensiveness when I asked not to be on social media. This happened immediately at the onset of my appointment with her. When I indicated I did not want to be recorded for Tik Tok/IG stories she immediately responded with "it's in the contract." Mind you, I did not sign this part of the contract, so therefore, I did not provide this consent in writing. I also do not use social media myself, and appreciate privacy. I'm sure she could tell I was uncomfortable, but she didn't seem to care and recorded a good portion of my makeup application using a device which she mounted onto the window sill. A week later it appeared on both her IG and TikTok platforms. If a client asks not to be recorded in THEIR home for your social media, then respect that. Apart from this, I have nothing negative to say, but nevertheless, it soured my mood a bit on the day of.

You had given your consent for recording the makeup process, as well as the photos, which is why that was done. There may be a miscommunication, because whether it is in the contract or not, we highly respect our clients' privacy. I wish you had communicated this when it was posted (or afterwards via email) so that we could have resolved this sooner. I have gone ahead and removed it from social media.

Horrible Experience, Very Unorganized

COVID hit all vendors hard, but I think Noor and her team mismanaged very badly. I will not be recommending this "luxury bridal service to anyone". As, this was the vendor that gave me the most stress, and was the most disorganized.

1. I booked my wedding makeup around November 2020, for a July 2021 wedding. When I stated that other vendors are being flexible and do book appointments beforehand, and then cancel given COVID restrictions a week or two before, I was told they dont want brides cancelling appointments and emailing them about it and they dont ask me what other vendors do, and this is their policy. But, this is a premium bridal service, I paid over 1.4k for this. I do expect some sort of administrative flexibility. I kept emailing every month, and then June 14th I was told they will book me in for a trial. 2 days later I was told I will not be getting a trial as the makeup artist works 9-5 and then also is busy during the weekends. IF the makeup artist has a very strict schedule and limited trial times, this is something you should communicate to the bride BEFOREHAND. I would have chosen differently, if I knew getting a trial would be this difficult. IDK what they were thinking not booking trials beforehand and cancelling if the phases changed, with a makeup artist with limited time capacity. I would have been happy if I felt like the NOOR team made an effort to book a trial which was then cancelled due to COVID. Not a team that made NO effort at all, and was just making excuses. I was stressed, and anxious about my makeup and hair on the wedding day because of this.

2. I asked for an earlier start time a year before the wedding, which was approved. The week before my wedding where I sent the formal summary email, I was told the hairstylist can come for 4:00am, but makeup will be 4:30am and they were making an exception. When I clarified that this request was already approved a YEAR ago, they said it was for another event I cancelled. When I stated that there was only one event and it was this event, I just got a "oh please trust us, you have more than enough time". No, I don't trust you, because you have been inconsistent and are disorganized.

3. I, as the bride, was on time and ready for the hairstylist to arrive. Brides get penalized for even half an hour the artist is left waiting (which I agree), but my makeup artist who was first supposed to arrive at 4am, and then 4:30am, did not come in until 4:55am. So they were the ones that were later, where is my compensation?

4. While signing the contract, I said please send a reminder email when the second payment is due. All my other vendors did this, and I know there are automated systems that will send the email (maybe invest in one??), but when I reached out to them for something else they said your payment is two days late, but we wont charge you the fees. I immediately sent the payment, but reminder emails are something that is expected of a luxury bridal service.

5. I also didn't like my makeup, the foundation was a little too dark and the lip color was horrible. When asked to fix the makeup artist did another swatch and then kind of just left? I changed the lip color afterwards. But, I didn't feel beautiful or confident at all.

6. When booking I asked for Hair by Fero, without even informing me of the change the day of my wedding someone else came in. That was extremely unprofessional to not be informed of a change. As a new artist means a different style, that I am not aware of or book for...

7. I truly felt that, they hold the brides 100% accountable to the contract that was written before COVID really hit, so bridal flexibility due to COVID wasn't given and every ask was met with it "this isnt in the contract, there is this fee, this is what we agreed", but they changed their policies etc to fit their specific needs and gave themselves a lot of flexibility.

I would not recommend this service to anyone who wants to have a stress free bridal makeup experience. They are an administrative nightmare, and provide service that is worth way less than what you paid for.

We are sad to hear that you didn't find our efforts enough for accommodating: last minute trial requests (you declined the dates that were offered to you), multiple time changes (including delay on the day of), location changes, special accommodation for saree drop off. We were happy to accommodate these while waiving all fees.

Unfortunately we do not change the colour of someone's skin with makeup, and we think you have a beautiful skin tone, which we enhanced...

Hair not what I wanted

The makeup was nice but I was really looking forward to getting a specific hairstyle which I was assured will be created for me. But it didn’t look like what I wanted. During the hair styling process, I expressed my concern that it didn’t look how I wanted multiple times and each time was told it would settle and look like the photo I wanted but it didn’t. Sure, the hair looked nice, but I was so excited to get a specific style done (which was in their portfolio too) and it wasn’t delivered.

As recommended by your day-of Artist on the trial day, purchasing hair extensions would make a big difference in your hair since your hair was not as voluminous and long. Since you decided against them, the artist took the pictures you showed as inspiration, and gave you a hairstyle you still looked beautiful in.

Exceptionally Talented, Professional, and Caring!

There are so many things that make Noor an outstanding choice for bridal hair and makeup. She has a remarkable talent for her work and demonstrates exemplary professionalism. Her style provides for a flawless and modern beauty which photographs so well and also looks perfect in person. Besides that, she is such a sweet and kind person, and a well-rounded intellectual lady with whom it's so easy to talk about anything in the world for hours on. Highly recommend Noor for bridal hair and makeup (and to make her your future best friend too haha)!

My makeup and hair was honestly perfect and I felt like myself, which was important to me. Looking back, I wouldn’t have changed a single thing. Loved loved loved Noor Artistry

From the trial, to the engagement pictures, to the actual wedding day- the ladies at Noor Artistry blew me away. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly talented, professional, punctual, receptive and easy to work with. I don’t generally like to wear a lot of make-up but they were able to find a happy medium between enough coverage without looking caked on. I would not have changed 1 thing. My mom and sister were extremely happy with their services as well!
Everyone commented on how perfect our hair and makeup were and the photos look like a magazine shoot.
Special thanks to Sara for being so detailed oriented. I can't wait to use the team in the future!

Awesome experience

I booked noor artistry for my e-shoot and I was booked with zara for my hair and make up. First of all shes an absolute sweetheart, amazing customer service! Also, She did a phenomenal job making me look absolutely stunning. She did exactly what i had wanted without going over board. I felt absolutely amazing in my hair and make up. The make up stayed on perfect throughout my entire e-shoot.

Got tons of compliments from everyone! Even my fiance loved it. I will definitely be booking with zara again in the future. Thanks for such a wonderful experience!

They were OK

I used Noor Artistry for my wedding hair and makeup last summer (we had a Hindu ceremony). While she was responsive via email, I found her customer service quite rigid and she wasn't very flexible with her policies (i.e. when paying my deposit, she only lets you pay her a certain amount and the rest has to be paid to the artist who comes to do your hair and makeup. Customers shouldn't be responsible for splitting money between the owner and artist - that's your job).

Regardless, I ended up booking her because I liked her work (which I looked up on Instagram and other websites). On the day of the wedding, I liked my makeup. However, the hairdresser did not know how to adequately place my head piece or wrap my dupatta (for my lehenga). It was not a complicated head piece and quite commonly worn in all Hindu ceremony weddings. The issue was that she struggled to place it in a symmetrical way. I had to explain to her how to do this properly and it ate up quite a bit of our time.

She was also struggling with my dupatta. She had to reset my head dupatta multiple times because one side kept staying longer than the other. Also, I had another dupatta wrapped around me which was placed the wrong way (the border is supposed to come on the outside) and did not look neat. I'm not very good at pleating a dupatta myself so I wasn't able to advice her much on how to do that but I do have an eye for noticing when something doesn't look neat. There were so many issues with this hairdresser and I could only spend so much time trying to explain how to do her job. I had shown them detailed pictures of what I wanted prior to the wedding day as well.

As a bride, especially when I'm paying $500, I don't want to sit there on the day of my wedding (with 1 million other things on my mind) and explain to the hairdresser how to do her job. You are supposed to be the expert and that's what we are paying you for!

I explained this to Noor after the wedding and instead of receiving any consolation from her, she just defends and argues. Browsing through all these reviews, it's evident that this is how she responds to anyone who raises concerns about her company's work and/or service. She simply does not want accept her or her staff's mistakes.

Also, I have noticed that many of her makeup models and reviews come from the same people over and over again (which I'm assuming are her friends). Not much credibility here.

Thank you for leaving us a review and sharing your thoughts. Throughout the booking process, we were extremely accommodating to all your requests, including changing the start time multiple times. We have a little over 125 emails back and forth with you, all of which include very specific questions, instructions, and requests from you.

Such as you notifying us that you accidentally e-transferred $1 more for the services, and requesting it back via e-transfer. Which was settled immediately.

Our team even waived policies for you (i.e. not charging you a late fee because the team members had to wait almost 30 minutes for you mid-service). The team also provided complimentary services to...

Makeup and hair

I chose Noor for my e-shoot look and I could not be happier with my choice!! Noor is not only extremely talented, she is one of sweetest and kindest souls you will meet. She is also extemely patient and makes sure to listen to exactly what you want and deliver just that! I’m usually very skeptical about getting my makeup done, but Noor was a dream to work with.

The perfect glam team

I can’t say enough good things about Noor and her team. I was on vacation visiting Toronto from NY for my engagement photos. I searched Instagram and fell in love with their natural style or both hair and makeup. Day of, I felt so comfortable with them, they really listened to all my requests and gave me everything I asked for. When I looked in the mirror I literally gasped LOL I love how my engagement photos turned out. I recommend them to anyone who likes a soft romantic editorial look!! So amazing. Noor is the sweetest besides!
