Meet the team
A career drummer When I was younger, I have returned to playing after a varied career outside of music. During my 14+ years as a professional, I played and recorded with some of Canada's top musicians.
I started my musical career in Argentina, along with my sister Marcela, and together we became young pop and recording stars in Portugal.
When the family emigrated to Canada in 1985, I continued my interest in art and have a graphic and website design company. My interest in jazz led me to Jazz Plazma a few years ago, and I’ve been singing with the band ever since. I’m very active in the Portuguese community and am often invited to appear on radio and TV and in print.
I first developed a love for jazz in my native country, Russia, and studied piano and composition at when I was at the university. I played professionally a little bit in Russia. I formed Jazz Plazma along with my son, Ivan, who was the original drummer.
