Wedding Anniversary

Hired this band for our 20th anniversary! They were fantasic! Great play list for all ages - with a varity of pop, classic rock, oldies and even new songs. All my guest raved about how good they were - I was very impressed and hoping to hire them again for my 25th. It was definitely a night to remember. Thank you Ransom! Pardon the pun but you guys ROCK!

Best, most versatile band around!!

First of all I need to say I've known Bob from this band for about 8 years but only because he came in to an establishment I managed at the time for a bite to eat and asked if I needed a band for any events coming up. I took his card and a few months later gave him a call and hired him. I've never looked back and have never hired another band since. I've utilized these guys several times and am so excited to have them play my wedding!!!

They are an absolute riot!!! They are not afraid to dress up for any event and love getting the crowd involved!! They play everything from oldies to country to rock and roll and they do it exceptionally well!!! With them DJing in between sets it takes added stress off of finding a music source while they relax for a few mins.

This band is talented, fun, happy, social and just an absolute pleasure to work with!! You won't regret using them for your event!!!

If it was possible to give this vendor 0 stars. I would. We hired Bob (from the Ransom Band) to do the sound for our wedding after finding his add on Kijiji and it was an absolute disaster. The chaos started 5 minutes before our wedding ceremony when the microphone stopped working. Bob said he had a spare in his car, but then his phone rang, he answered it and then left completely, leaving us and our 130 guests waiting. We had to figure out his sound board and had no microphone for the ceremony. When Bob did return, it was in the middle of our speeches during our reception. In the 6+ hours he had been gone, we got a microphone working on our own, only to be aware of his return when he started messing with the sound and nearly deafened our guests with the screech of the microphone. Things continued to go downhill. He had requested free food and drink during the event, which initially I though reasonable, until he skipped the dinner (which was paid for already!) and took full advantage of the bar and according to our bartenders "drank like a fish". Halfway through our dance he started taking down speakers he said we didn't need and wouldn't stop when asked. Completely disturbing our guests in the process. Throughout the dance he was constantly changing the sound and messing with the quality of our music. The music would start to crackle and we would have to go back to his sound board and adjust on our own. My last straw was at the end of the night when he broke one of our decorations and did not acknowledge or apologize until I confronted him. He said "I'll pay you $1 for the decoration, but you didn't hire me as a DJ, so don't expect so much". Not once did we ask him to do anything other than run the sound, which he failed to do. He was extremely rude and unprofessional the entire evening. Fortunately, our best man was able to get part of our money back from him, but I wish we had just rented the AV equipment from someone else, even if it cost way more.
