Dancing takes up half of your reception, but all too often it's a part of the wedding that is overlooked. If you want your party to be a barn burner, having a live band is a must - and having the right live band can make or break your night! Side One was founded by an event planner and a musican and is set up to meet all your needs for the big day, not the least of which is burning up the dance floor. Side One is not your cliche wedding band in frilly tuxedos playing Mustang Sally, they are young, dynamic entertainers and professional musicians, and will rock your wedding for a price that won't make you cry.

Side One offers an extensive repertoire covering everything from Aretha, Tina Turner, the Beatles and the Stones right up to the most current hits by the likes of Kanye, Nikki Minaj, Flo Rida, and the Biebs. Side One will customize the set to meet your style and entertain absolutely all your guests. And they promise that at no point there will be any YMCA-ing! They basically shrivel up and die anytime they hear of the chicken dance being played at a wedding. Side One also offers live music options for your ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner, and audio solutions for mics for your officiant, MC and speakers - basically anything audio for your event, they have you covered!

Best wedding decision ever
I have absolutely no regrets about hiring Side One for our wedding! I have seen them before at other weddings I have been to and ever single time I am blown away by how amazing they sound and the energy they bring to a dance floor - our wedding was no exception! We hired the 6 piece band for our approximately 100 person wedding. They are professional, responsive, and incredibly helpful with answering questions. The quality of their sound and their performance is 10/10. Our wedding dance floor was so much fun and everything I dreamed of!

They were incredible at our wedding. They were on time and kind and were great at communicating with us before and during the wedding. Everyone that came to our wedding loved them and thought they were the best band they ever saw at weddings. Highly recommend them!

For an UNFORGETTABLE wedding, look no further!
We had SideOne play during our wedding reception on May 19, 2024 in Vancouver, BC. We opted for the 6-piece band, and we also had their sound technician provide music management during our ceremony and dinner.
Hands down, SideOne is THE way to have your guests still talking about your wedding months later! They absolutely KILLED IT during the dancing portion of our evening, and they are probably the biggest reason why many of our guests told us after that it was the best wedding they had ever attended! The bandleader Rob was super helpful and responsive in the lead up to the big day, coming up with a custom edit of our first dance song and even accommodating the Groom's surprise musical performance for the Bride just before dinner. We are SO happy with our decision to hire SideOne, and we CANNOT recommend them enough -- the memories alone are worth EVERY penny!

Book them!
We still can't believe how amazing this band was!! We booked them for our wedding and literally everyone was asking us - who they hell are these guys (and girl!) and where did you find them?! They rocked it way past our expectations and none of us have danced like that since I don't even know when. SO worth it! It was also so helpful and seamless to have them there for our ceremony, dinner, and reception - not really sure what we would have done otherwise. Hope to see them play again soon!

Best wedding band bar none
Side One absolutely *made* our wedding!!! Not only did they keep our friends and family on the dance floor literally all night, but they also helped us with sound tech throughout our ceremony and a fun playlist throughout our happy hour, ensuring that everything music-related was professionally handled from beginning to end. They even paid attention to our sample Spotify playlists and played my husband's favourite song as a surprise encore at midnight! 12/10 recommend them—stop thinking about it and just go for it!

Best. Band. Ever.
We hired SideOne's 8-piece band for our wedding and it was the best decision ever. They rocked a dance party that everyone noticed. They are excellent musicians, incredible vocalists, and nice people. We gave them a weird inspiration list and they took it and made it amazing, there was nothing I would have changed about my experience with SideOne. They were worth every penny and I am looking for the next thing to hire them for already!

Best dance band ever!
We had Side One's 6 piece band for our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we've ever made! They were absolutely phenomenal and kept the party going all night. All of our guests are raving about their performance and they were honestly worth every penny. If you are on the fence, GO WITH THEM. Words can't explain how great they were!!

Side One is an incredible band!
Wow. Side One was truly AMAZING at our wedding last month in Seattle. We couldn’t be more happy we choosing to work with them. I only wish I had a set list so I could continue to relive the experience they created for us!!
They brought the energy with great attitudes in not the easiest of days (it was a wet wet day and we were outside) and I have truly never seen a dance floor so packed non-stop for the duration of the wedding. We have had multiple people tell us it was the best band they have seen in a long time. They played an incredible mix of old and new, which made our crowd and us very happy.

Must Have for Fun Wedding
I first heard Side One at a couple galas and fundraisers I attended as a guest, and witnessed how they got the entire room moving. That's when I knew I needed them for my wedding! They were the very first vendor I booked as soon as we got engaged as I knew I wanted to lock them down for our wedding date. Little did I know, COVID would disrupt our plans not once, but twice. Side One was so gracious with all the changes and stuck with us until our third wedding date. Even weeks before the wedding, due to Covid restrictions, they had to be moved outside under a tent instead of playing inside. Again, they adapted and we had a huge blast. I don't think I stopped dancing during their entire set. So many people came up to me to gush about the music and some said they had no idea bands could play modern songs. Side One played our chosen ceremony song which was an acoustic version of an EDM song, a recessional song, a Hora, first dance song (even incorporating French lyrics I requested) and one must-have song my now-husband asked for. They pulled all these off perfectly. All the other songs were their choice and were a great mix of classics, and the 90's/00's songs we grew up listening to. Side One was beyond phenomenal and I could not recommend them more. Definitely prioritize this vendor over a DJ or spotify list!
