We had the pleasure of having Uptown Strings perform at our wedding, and they were absolutely fantastic! Darcy was great to communicate with throughout the planning process, making everything so smooth. The team was incredibly professional and quickly learned the song we requested for our Hindu ceremony, playing it flawlessly. Not only did they perform our favorite pieces with perfection, but they were also very flexible, moving seamlessly between different areas of our venue to accommodate various ceremonies and cocktail hour. Thank you, Uptown Strings, for doing such an amazing job and helping make our day so special! -

We hired the Duo to play at our recent wedding. Darcy and team were super friendly and professional. From the get go they asked us exactly what we wanted and were more than willing to learn a specific song for us. On the day they were set up right on time and all our guests were commenting on the quality of the music as they arrived. During the ceremony they timed the music perfectly and it really added a really beautiful atmosphere to the moment. They are absolutely amazing and I couldn’t recommend them more!Uptown Strings's reply:

May 2024 Wedding - Calgary, AB
We booked Uptown Strings (violin and cello duo) for our May 2024 wedding ceremony at the Lakehouse in Calgary. We wanted the special live music touch to add to our ceremony and I had my heart set on a specific song to walk down the aisle to. The music was fantastic - they played some modern songs, as we requested, but were also able to play our special request songs. One of the groomsman commented that the live music was one of his favourite parts of the wedding day, and we loved it too! During the planning process, Darcy was also fantastic to deal with - responsive and professional.Uptown Strings's reply:

One of the best vendors for your wedding! We hired the guitar and violinist duo for our ceremony and portion of our cocktail hour. Darcy was professional from day 1, answered all of our questions, arrived timely the day of and delivered a beautiful performance. We even had a request for one of our ceremony songs that wasn’t on their song list and they learned it and played the day of and it was perfect !!! Couldn’t recommend them enough. Thank you to Uptown Strings for the incredible music they created during my ceremony and celebration. The mix of songs between classical and contemporary was perfect and Darcy was very responsive to all of my questions.

Spectacular
Darcy was the violinist at our wedding. He played for the guests before the ceremony and our guests loved it so much! He played for our actual ceremony which was so moving that it brought our loved ones to tears. Very moving!
Great communication leading up to the day of and the music selection was excellent.
I highly recommend Darcy for any special occasion. It really elevated our guests experience and I loved walking down the aisle to At Last by Etta James. Nailed it! -

What a pleasure it was to work with Darcy and his crew. His team was a real show stopper. He was so helpful from the first phone call. He advised us on everything from the type of music, number of musicians, type of setup, etc…
Everyone couldn’t stop talking about how wonderful the music was. Will definitely contact them again if we’re ever in the area with another event!Uptown Strings's reply:
