Ted Simmons was a former clergyman who became worried about how wedding ceremonies were being conducted outside the church. In 1980, he opened the Wedding Chapel in Hess Village which offered more dignified ceremonies in a non-church setting. Over time he added other locations to the list, continuing to provide couples with a vow exchange to be treasured for years to come.
