We cannot imagine anyone else as our officiant

We had the absolute pleasure of having Mary officiate our wedding, and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. From the very beginning, Mary exuded a calming presence that instantly put us at ease. Planning a wedding ceremony can be stressful, but her calm demeanour and reassuring words made the entire process smooth and enjoyable.

Mary took the time to get to know us as a couple, and this effort was evident in the beautifully personalized service she wrote for us. It was as if she had known us for years, capturing the essence of our relationship and the love we share. Her words resonated deeply with us and our guests, making the ceremony incredibly special.

Our guests couldn't stop raving about how wonderful she was. Many of them mentioned how she made them feel included and connected. Her warmth and genuine care for us and our loved ones shone through, making everyone feel like a part of our journey.

Excellent service

This was a second (renewal) wedding for us 32 years apart...so there were only four of us, five with Mary, involved. In our early contact with Mary, we expressed our service to be short and sweet, and generally informal, non religious but spiritual in the forest, with a few nods to those who are no longer with us. She delivered exactly the kind of service we were looking for, and even caught onto our own special kind of humour and joined right in. It was a pleasure have Mary as our officiant and we can without hesitation recommend her to anyone seeking an officiant for their own service. 5/5 in all aspects. Thank you

Comforting and Helpful

Mary was the first and only officiant my husband and I spoke to when looking for one for our wedding. During our meeting with her so made us feel so comfortable and helped to ease our nerves. We felt like we'd known her forever. The only issue we had was during the ceremony she forgot to hand me the mic for one of my lines and it shows in the video. But all in all she is an amazing officiant and I would highly recommend her.

All around wonderful experience with Mary!!

Mary took the time to get to know us, the type of wedding we wanted and provided guidance when we needed it. She was always quick to respond to our emails and was flexible with our meeting times. She has a very calming presence yet was quick to laugh with us too! She even made sure her outfit matched our wedding colors!! A friend brought her mother as her guest, her mother said that even though she didn’t know my spouse and I that by the end of the ceremony she felt like she knew us 🥰

Mary took the time to get to know us, the type of wedding we wanted and provided guidance when we needed it. She was always quick to respond to our emails and was flexible with our meeting times. If I could give 10000 stars I would!!!!

Reverend Mary McCandless was amazing! Not just for the service, she was there for us every step of the way!! There were snafooz but Mary kept everything going smoothly ( the entire venue had no internet so we lost music, which meant no wedding march) without missing a beat, Mary had the entire audience hum me down the aisle!!!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!! I SINCERELY BELIEVE THAT MY DAY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AS SPECIAL HAD MARY NOT BEEN THERE.

After meeting Mary for the first time to discuss ceremony plans, we knew it was meant to be that she marry us. Like most couples, we had anxious thoughts and questions about how the big day would come together. As soon as she began explaining everything, we felt overwhelming relief. She answered all of our questions, including ones we didn’t even know we had, very calmly and clearly. Mary’s charming nature and gentle wit makes you feel like she’s known you for years, which gave us great comfort leading up to and on the day of.

From beginning to end we knew we made the right choice. With her experience she helped us plan every detail to create the exact ceremony we envisioned and bring it to life.

Our guests still bring up what an amazing ceremony and how fantastic Mary was on the day. Highly recommended!

Post wedding she mailed us our vow books, a cute card, and even helped us when we had issues with Service Ontario sending us our wedding certificate (even though she didn’t have to!)
