As a non-denominational reverend, Matty is pleased to work with soon-to-be spouses with different values and spiritual beliefs. He serves a variety of religious affiliations, including agnostic, Anglican, Episcopalian, presbyterian, quaker, Earth-based, Jewish, pagan, and unitarian. Whether he’s presiding over a cross-cultural celebration, an intimate occasion, or a themed wedding, this officiant is committed to creating a completely custom ceremony. Spectacular and memorable!

Reverend Matty is the best! He truly helped us create the ceremony that we had always hoped for. It was so elegant, authentic and touching. It truly represented us and both of our faiths as well as it highlighted our love for one another, all of our guests were touched, but most of all we absolutely loved it! Thank-you again Reverend Matty for being a part of our special day that we will remember forever! ❤️💫

Rev. Matty Was Amazing!

We had to postpone our wedding and change our date more than a few times throughout the pandemic, and Rev. Matty was so flexible and responsive - it really made a stressful situation so much easier. All of our guests remarked at how lovely our ceremony was, and Rev. Matty just had this gentle, soft nature about him that really put our wedding jitters at ease. We were so glad we chose him to marry us.

The Good Reverend Matty is Amazing

Reverend Matty was organized and adventurous, a tough combo to find. He surprised us with his patience (we were late !) and with his willingness to meet us where we wanted to marry. (At the top of a cliff on the edge of Lake Huron in January !) We will always remember his gentle way and his excellent choice of words for our adventure ceremony. Thank you so much to The Good Reverend Matty for blessing and for officiating our union in the eyes of God. You were perfect !!

The One For The Job!

We met with Matty virtually over zoom, and instantly knew that he was the man to marry us. He is so personable and knowledgeable about what he does. Super professional, and has an attention to detail! We can’t wait for Matty to marry us next year!

Amazing day!

We had some last minute changes to our wedding and Matty was there to save the day! We had our first meeting over zoom and instantly clicked! He wrote a very lovely ceremony for my husband and I and was always available via email for any questions we had. Even after our wedding day, he was always quick to reply with answering my questions. Highly recommend him!

Great experience!

Was a pleasure to work with Matty, we met online on zoom to go over details and were given different script options to work with and we were also able to make a few changes to make the script our own. Made our small ceremony memorable and effortless (and also very affordable).

Excellent!!

We had a great time with Matty on our wedding day. Even in the uncertain times of COVID, with weather not supporting our wedding day, Matty was very patient and kind.

He took time before the wedding to go over every detail of the ceremony.

We had an amazing experience with Matty officiating our wedding. I would definitely be recommending him to my other friends as well.

Matty was Amazing

Matty was such an amazing officiant. Right from the start we knew we were in good hands. Matty's prompt responses to our e-mails, and personalized ceremony options let us know we had booked a professional. On the day, we were relaxed and confident that everything was going to off without an issue with Matty officiating our service, he was early, prepared and had every detail looked after ahead of time. Married the way we wanted

Matty was such a pleasure to work with. His calm personality was such a rich and soothing feature to our ceremony. I really feel like he listened to us when we discussed how we wanted the ceremony to go. We met with many other officiants who we just didn't feel were the right fit but as soon as we finished our zoom call with Matty, my now husband and I turned to eachother and said "that's him, that's the one". We just got married on Saturday and everything went perfectly. We had that short but sweet ceremony we wanted and even though we hadn't known Matty long, it felt like an old friend was presiding over our ceremony. I highly recommend The Good Reverend Matty to all the soon to be married couples out there. You won't be disappointed. Thank you so much Matty!

After earning a masters degree in Religious Studies, I realized that life is often defined by how we mark an occasion, how we celebrate, and the ceremonies we participate in.

With a desire to help people mark the important moments in their lives, I established The Centre for the Embrace of Beauty in the Absurd. As an ordained minister, I can officiate weddings, vow renewals, celebration of life ceremonies, baby-naming rituals and more. I have been officiating weddings since 2010, and love meeting and working with each new couple. As a reverend in a non-denominational organization, I can help with any ceremonial need. I am here to help.
