Why? Two big reasons: first, at the time of writing this review (October 31st, 2024), she has a perfect 5 star rating on Google with 937 registered reviews. I'm not great with math, but that looks like a 100% success rate to me :)

Second, our experience – my partner and I are non-denominational, both coming from different places on the raised-by-a-religious-family spectrum, and it was important to us to have a celebration of our love that suited all parties. With our ceremony held in Ontario, we also wanted to be officiated over by a close friend of ours, herself not recognized by any religious institutions (and not recognized by Ontario to legally marry us). So, we found Tade, agreed on a time and place before our public ceremony, and thought to ourselves Well, We Can't Have All Things At Once, So We'll Have A No Frills Legal Marriage. Honestly, we didn't put much stock in the legal ceremony, assuming that it would be bare bones and less important than our public ceremony. That's where Tade blew our socks off.

We agreed to meet in a park in Little Italy, fairly innocuous, on a Tuesday evening. True to Toronto form, there were other people using the park, there was litter on the ground, and no park benches were clean. When Tade arrived and we began, the words and advice that she came with held a certain gravity, such so that when our ceremony began, we felt as though we three (and our two witnesses) were the only people around for miles; the focus that she brought and her love for love was so infectious that there was little else to attune to; we had to sign our papers and, thoughtfully, she brought a clean, ceremonial blanket to cover the bench with. Her vernacular and sincerity were truly touching, and made all the difference to us – she turned our little formality into an event we would never want to forget.

We did a small paperwork ceremony with our mom's in attendance and she made what we thought was just going to be signing documents so special. She's very knowledgable, kind and warm. Perfect person to have officiating your ceremony in varying capacity.

Tade is absolutely amazing. Getting her on board for the wedding was super straightforward, she keeps everything wonderfully simple. We had a long initial conversation with her (before she asked for any money!) where she gave us all sorts of advice and thoughts on our wedding and listened to all of our vision for the ceremony. She is so much fun to talk to. She then provided us with a full draft based on all of the ideas that we had. We were planning early, so we then didn't end up touching base with her for over a year. When we chatted again, she remembered everything and was fully ready to go in the last couple of months before the wedding, helping us iron out the last details.

One amazing thing to highlight: Tade lets you customize every word of the entire ceremony script, and then she delivers it perfectly, naturally, and flawlessly. If you want a lot of control over your ceremony, Tade is an amazing choice. And her prices are GREAT.

Based on our first meeting, she sent us the bones of a ceremony she thought suited our vibe and we filled in the details before our walkthrough two weeks prior to the wedding. During our walkthrough, she gave us great advice on timing, private vows, legal aspects, and photo-moments. She has expertise and understanding that come from years of experience.

She was so good at commanding a crowd in a way that felt fun and genuine. It was lightly raining during our wedding and she got everyone's attention inside, made announcements, and got everyone outside very efficiently. The ceremony itself was beautiful in no small part because of her support.

Can't recommend her enough!
