Twyla Lapointe is a full-time professional photographer who owns and operates Admire Studios, which is located in the east of Edmonton, Alberta beside Sherwood Park. Twyla is known for capturing enlightening and profound portraits that highlight her subjects’ natural beauty. She holds a BFA in photography and has shot 50 plus weddings over 14 years! Specializing in contemporary photojournalism and unique modern portraiture styles that capture photogenic expressions on everyone, Twyla strives to find honest and raw moments that truly represent the heart of her clients.
Services offered
Twyla offers suitable packages for weddings of all sizes. All packages include edited, high-resolution photos and a digital photo gallery where clients can view and download images.
Admire Studios offers three small wedding packages and three larger ones. All packages include edited, high-resolution photos and a digital photo gallery where clients can view and download images. All coverage is free of hourly limitations - downtime in a day is fine with Twyla.
Payment Plans
For those whose dreams exceed their short term budget limitations, we offer customized long term payment plans - have your wedding paid for straight out of your bank account without a second thought - just one trip to the bank and you're set. Ask about the option of having your guests contribute to your wedding photography with a Wedding Photography Registry.
Engagement Sessions
Engagement sessions are a great way to experiment with Twyla and see if her style suits yours.
Admire Studios also offers packages for engagement sessions: Admire Experience, Beloved Experience, and Creative Experience.
The Important Things
Twyla carries backup gear in case of the event of equipment failure. She is equally enthused about destination weddings and will be more than happy to accompany couples to their wedding location. Meet the team
I collect beautiful things.
A close friend of mine once said that the thing she thought set me apart from everyone else was that I collected beauty – in people, in artwork, in photos, in teapots and household items. No matter what I do, I try to collect beauty.
I have a fine art degree.
Not only do I know how to take photographs, I am also quite good at drawing, printmaking, sculpture in wood, glass, and found objects and more. My favourite art genre is personal conceptual gallery art, like French artist Sophie Calle’s “Take Care of Yourself” collection.
It’s not my first rodeo.
It’s probably safe to say that over the course of my career I have shot over 150,000 photos professionally. I have backup gear just in case and I use a special lens bag to make sure I can always get the shot. I’ve trained from the best, and now I train photographers how to run their business. I have spoken at photography conferences and I coach photographers to improve their companies through time management and business training.
I am a HUGE nerd and I also married one.
I have played Dungeons and Dragons and have a huge geek board game collection – I love Citadels the most. I have LARPed, cosplayed multiple times, and attended several cities’ Comic Cons. I watch every superhero movie and TV show that comes out. The sounds of anime are currently floating from my kitchen where hubby is making supper. He might be reading a comic book or watching anime as you read this.
I am relentlessly hopeful.
When the world seems to be caving in, I am always realistic – but I am also always hopeful. I am not the kind of person who is just positive all the time. I just have hope for every day.
I am spiritual and scientific.
I am a practicing Catholic, and love the spiritual and mystical side of life as much as I love science. I love research and logic and dancing in the rain. I have been accused of having Spock-like qualities and certainly Sheldon-like radar for the best seat in the house.
I am fascinated by people.
People are the reason I do what I do. Studying their personalities, and how they shine through their eyes and smiles, how they move. I love all of that aspect of my work. I’m looking forward to meeting you. I hope we can work together!
