Alex Popov Photography is a husband and wife wedding photography team based in beautiful Canmore, Alberta. They specialize in telling your love story through timeless, candid and adventurous photography.
As locals to the Bow Valley, they know all the best spots for capturing incredible couples photos. When Alex and Cat are not exploring the mountains on skis, mountain bike or rock climbing you’ll find them photographing outdoorsy couples in the mountains surrounding Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise and Emerald Lake.

Alex and Cat love exploring the Rockies to capture stunning mountain images of couples, whether it's mountaintop vistas or valley bottom hikes. They offer engagement sessions, elopements, weddings and wedding ceremony videos. Every wedding and elopement is covered by Alex and Cat with only one event per day, allowing them to focus entirely on your wedding. Also included is planning assistance for choosing vendors, venues and locations, as well as edited high-resolution photos, a private online gallery and personal printing rights.

Amazing photographers, wonderful humans!
The photos are amazing, but the truly wonderful part of hiring Alex and Cat is getting to hang out with them on your special day! We ended up in a surprise torrential downpour and Alex & Cat truly made the best of the situation by pivoting to a new plan and capturing some beautiful pics and also being super fun to hang out with.

Meet the team
My passion for photography began with capturing portraits and landscapes when I was at university and it’s taken me to some amazing locations including Patagonia, the Bolivian Amazon and all over North America. When I'm not photographing weddings, engagements or family sessions I enjoy landscape photography.
At home in the Rockies, I enjoy climbing, mountain biking, skiing and hiking. Bringing my camera on these adventures allows me to document and share the beautiful views, struggles and accomplishments of each trip!
I want my clients to feel relaxed and comfortable in front of my cameras, so I keep the atmosphere lighthearted and informal. I use cues as well as a variety of static and moving poses to help you feel comfortable and natural. Making you look your best in front of the Rockies finest landscapes is what I specialize in!
