I knew long before the wedding was planned that we were going to hire Amber for our photos. The way she captures and preserves colour in her photographs is, in my opinion, unparalleled in Vancouver, and since we knew we wanted colourful engagement photos and a colourful wedding she was an absolute must! Besides that, Amber is so calm, cool, collected, and completely on top of everything going on around her. Working with her made us feel immediately calmer, as she has an innate sense of timing and kept us on or ahead of schedule and she seemed to understand without us needing to say a word the moment we were “done” and moved us on to the next thing.
Our engagement session was so much fun (and strongly recommended for prep for the big day, as well as just having a gallery of “normal” photos together - who ever gets those anymore!) and very relaxed. We gave Amber a couple ideas of how we wanted them to turn out and she ran with it to create the perfect gallery of photos that captured precisely who we are as a couple and featuring the perfect environments and settings.
On our wedding day, she and her assistant, captured absolutely every detail, fit in seamlessly with our family and friends, and were seemingly everywhere and nowhere the entire day - I’ve worked in weddings long enough to know that this is what every couple needs from their photographer. When we got our photos back, we were so delighted to see all the major moments, of course, but also all sorts of little happenings and interactions we completely missed or had forgotten about in the rush of the day. We ended up with the perfect mix of posed and candid photos that completely encapsulated the wedding. Seven months later, I look at our photos almost weekly and I can never get enough - we couldn’t be happier!

Weddings are tough. There's a weird mix of caring a great deal about certain aspects of your day, and letting things roll however they happen. Throwing caution to the wind and keeping control to the chaos is a careful and strange balance.

We wanted a wedding that allowed everyone including ourselves to feel comfortable, have fun, and enjoy the uniqueness of such a special day together. We looked for a photographer that had the wherewithal to help guide our day but also go with the flow. What we saw in Amber's portfolio was an amazing mix of moments showing her ability to fit like a chameleon into anyone's ideal notion of how they wanted their wedding captured. We set a meeting and knew very quickly she was our pick.

The engagement session (highly recommended) helped us get over the strangeness of having a camera follow us around. Amber took our vision and ran with it, with careful nudges and well thought out prompts we were happy, ready and confident we were in excellent hands.

Weddings go quick. Months of thinking and planning and scrutiny GONE IN A FLASH. Amber and her assistant managed to be in ten places at once at all times of the day, and the portfolio we received is something we will cherish forever. Her ability to match colour, emotion, tone and feeling is uncanny. Of the very talented pool of photographers Vancouver has to offer, we wholeheartedly believe Amber is in a class all her own.

Amber was professional but still very fun and really got into my unconventional wedding theme, and LGBTQ+ friendly! She did a lot of research on her own to find good locations around my venue for photos, and had a lot of ideas for things for us to do to get good shots. The results of the photos look amazing too!

Shooting during COVID has its challenges but we knew one of the most important things to us was having the best photographer we could find for our low to mid-budget, limited capacity four-day Indian Wedding. I come from a photography background and have done the job before so I knew exactly the kind of shooter/style I wanted. We spent alot of time researching Vancouver wedding photographers and when we found Amber I was ecstatic. Her prices were fair (undervalued imho), our timelines worked out and the engagement photos were a bonus for our package. We felt very lucky.

Our first meet up was for engagement photos. Amber has a laid back personality and she quickly created a relaxed shooting atmosphere to counter our mild anxiety. Being a model is awkward for most but thanks to her we forgot about the camera completely and the results exceeded our expectations. Who knew we could look so good?

The 4-day wedding was a whirlwind and Amber was there with us at every step. Like a great photographer she was able to herd the cattle at every event and make sure all the family was caught on film (whether they wanted to or not ☺️). I loved that she knew the ceremony probably better than us and was always ready to capture the perfect moment before it happened, the sign of a seasoned pro. Aside from Amber, her secondary shooters were just as thorough and talented, leaving no inconsistency in the final product. And what a product it was. Finding a photographer was one of the wedding tasks I was the most anxious about, but as soon as we met Amber we knew we were in good hands. Amber is an excellent communicator, extremely organized, and a steady ship during the ups and downs of wedding crunch time.

Over the three wedding events she captured for us, Amber was such a calming presence and rolled with the unexpected things that inevitably pop up. Most importantly, we are over the moon with the final product. Amber and her second shooter were truly magicians and captured moments I didn't notice they were around for. Overall, we have nothing but good things to say about our experience and I wouldn't hesitate to hire her again!
