Amazing experience!!

My husband and I had an absolutely amazing experience with BDFK Photography! Dorota and Marcin were both incredibly kind, creative, professional, and flexible with us. We had originally planned on doing this photoshoot over 2 years ago but due to Covid and work requirements we had to postpone twice. We also had planned on coming in June but on a moments notice Dorota and Marcin were able to accommodate yet another change of plans for us to come a month earlier. During the shoot they were both very creative and gave a lot of direction for posing/positioning which was very helpful for someone like me who feels awkward in front of a camera 🤣. They also brought a very fun energy to the whole experience which felt much more fun and adventurous than a simple photo session. I had originally expressed the most interest in Moraine lake but unfortunately the road was closed but that did not stop Dorota and Marcin from making this happen! We were able to take e-bikes to the lake on an early morning ride which made the whole experience even more fun! (They even slept overnight in their car so we could do this) Honestly just spending time with these two was an honor and privilege for my husband and I, they are just great people all around! I could not recommend them enough! They offer much more than incredible, unequaled photography, they offer a complete adventure and experience that made our wedding and honeymoon far beyond our expectations.

Look no further! Adventure Hike Elopement.

I could write a novel about the wonderful experience that my husband and I had with Dorota and Marcin. From the very first moment of contact through their "contact us" form on their website, they were extremely responsive. We met them "virtually" and had an instant connection. My husband and I live in the US. We have never been to Alberta and we really needed to trust our creative vendors to create our vision of perfection.

Fast forward to our adventure! We caught our first sunrise as a married couple with Dorota and Marcin. They took us to a winter wonderland and took some incredible photos. The couple is extremely creative and took advantage of the -36 temperatures for a once in a lifetime photo opportunity. Dorota packed some hot (and delicious!) tea for us to drink in between photos. This is just one of the many things that the couple did to accommodate the colder temperatures. Dorota and Marcin were extremely thoughtful! We enjoyed a nice lunch with the couple and it felt like we were sitting down with our family.

The next day we met early in the morning to hike and catch the sunrise from the mountain tip. Due to the weather conditions, Dorota and Marcin were very thoughtful about which mountain we were going to hike. We felt very confident that they had our safety as their first priority. It was a challenging hike in harsh conditions, but the once in a lifetime views made it all worth it!

This hike was a test both physically and mentally. It was a symbol of creating our own trails and staying the course. This hike was an unforgettable and meaningful adventure to start our marriage off with commitment, strength, and perseverance. 💪

Dorota and Marcin contributed to such a meaningful adventure. At some points of the hike, I wasn't sure if I was out of breath from physical exertion or laughing so hard! They were so much fun. At the top of the mountain, Dorota offered her jacket with fresh hand warmers to keep me warm. They also brought us a bottle of champagne for my husband and I to celebrate.

We booked a "BIG" adventure hike with Dorota and Marcin, but they did not skip out on the "SMALL" details that made the experience unforgettable. We were honored to give them the 2023 DUNDIE AWARD for best photographers. We walked away from the experience with more than just a photo album. We have two new family members for life!

Amazing experience with amazing photographers!

We are so glad to have met Marcin and Dorota! We hit it off from the very first video call. They are so down to earth and funny, you instantly feel like long time friends. They were so knowledgeable and spent time to help us picked the best time and location for our photos. During our first attempt we had a personal emergency and they immediately got us back down and were so kind and helpful and checked in on us to make sure we were ok and got us reschedule. Our 2nd attempt was perfect! We made it for sunrise and it was immaculate. They were so professional, you can see this is truely thier passion. They worked so well together and captured us in the best way with the light and the beautiful scenery around us. They took such good care of us, brought extra jackets, hot tea and snack for us. We had such a great time and had great conversations the whole way. Anyone looking for an amazing adventure photoshoot, we highly recommend B.D.F.K Photography!!

Fantastic couple

Dorota and Marcin come with so much energy and work magically as a team. We've already got our wamplea back and the photos are truly stunning
Our guests enjoyed talking with them at dinner and they were happy to make changes when my gma couldn't handle the cold, so we had to delay many family photos

Simply the BEST

The short summary: I have never worked with such an incredible pair of people in my life. I count myself beyond lucky that I was able to spend my elopement day with such a kind and funny duo, let alone the beautiful beyond beautiful pictures they took of us that I cherish.

The longer version:
Our wedding was originally scheduled in 2020, and I booked with Dorota and Marcin in 2019 after finding their stunning and creative work on their website. We were particularly impressed with their use of color and their playfulness with natural light. From the first phone call with them, I felt 100% more calm about our wedding. Their work speaks for themselves, clearly, but what I could not have anticipated was the charismatic, hilarious, and incredibly thoughtful humans behind the camera.

I was absolutely excited to marry my partner, but I have *always* dreaded having my picture taken. It is my least favorite activity. Needless to say – I had a lot of nerves/dread for wedding day photos, and these two put me at more ease than I could ever have imagined.

When our wedding was postponed due to border closures, not only were Marcin and Dorota incredibly accommodating and helpful with rescheduling, but they also were terrific communicators throughout the pandemic. They sent us news from Canada (we live in Chicago) and kept us updated on the estimated reopening. I also sometimes received surprise beautiful pictures of the epic outdoors from them which lifted my spirits during a tough time! I actually had far more communication from them than I did our venue.

We rescheduled 2020  2021  2022, and every time we had to change the date, they were so professional, prompt, and kind. As we inched our way closer to our 2021 date (we had already rescheduled for 2022), they contacted us that it looked like the border might open to U.S. citizens right before our 2021 date, and that they still had it on hold for us. We decided to go for it – and booked flights to go elope with Dorota and Marcin.

We had a chat before we flew up to Calgary about what we’d like to do and go see. I laughed the entire call and felt completely at ease. We told them we trusted them, and they could bring us wherever, and we gave a couple ideas. They knew the hassle we had gone through with our wedding and even met us for a night prior for a bite to eat to welcome us to town.

Our elopement day was pure magic. And by “pure magic,” I mean we had incredible experts in charge. Upon our request, they brought along their friend Michal who took the role of our officiant (we recommend him, too!). While I would have loved to do an adventure elopement, my partner did not feel up for it. I encourage you to check out their adventure portfolios, though. It’s too bad I really love my husband, because I would really like to elope again with them. We met them in the morning, and they did what they did best – captured our joy with award winning photography skills. I will treasure these photos all my life. At the last second, they suggested we switch gears and trekked over to BC to run around a waterfall. We felt like we were spending our elopement day with two old friends, as opposed to hired vendors.

Like I said in the beginning, from even the quickest glance, you know that these two are masters of their craft. What I hope my review shines a light on, though, is how terrific these two are as people as well as photographers. I hope they had fun with us too, because now I want to have them document all future celebrations for our family. I might show up one day with a newly adopted pup. “Dorota and Marcin…more pictures! We have a dog now!”

Une excellente session photo

Nous avons vécu une expérience incroyable. Marcin et Dorota sont très professionnels, nous n’avions jamais fait de shooting photos auparavant. Ils nous ont naturellement mis à l’aise et guidé afin que la session photo se fasse de façon agréable. La météo n’était vraiment pas bonne lors de notre session, malgré tout ils ont réussi à faire des clichés exceptionnels et nous ont proposé de poursuivre la session le lendemain avec une meilleure météo. Excellent Professionalism and gorgeous photos!

We really enjoyed having Marcin and Dorota photograph our recent wedding in Banff. They met with us ahead of time to walk through what we were looking for and took us to an amazing location for our photos. I would highly recommend them for your photos!

Adventure Elopement

We could not be more thrilled we went with Marcin and Dorota. They were AMAZING, look no further for photographers in the Rockies. They truly brought all my visions to life and blew away all my expectation.

Amazing experience

My husband and I would highly recommend BDFK Photography. Dorota and Marcin are an excellent photographers. We can tell that they are so passionate and dedicated with their work. They went above and beyond to provide us an amazing shoot and stress free wedding. We received a lot of compliments with our pictures. Thank you again Dorota and Marcin!
