Hélène is amazing in every way. She is not afraid to get dirty, hang off the side of a cliff, or stand in water with her equipment to get the perfect shot. We were so lucky to find Hélène as our photographer for our engagement and wedding. The pictures came out perfect and everyone could not wait to see. Hélène captured our moment perfectly and we will always be able to cherish our wedding. Thank you for everything and making us feel so special.

Crazy, zany, eclectic, artsy, beautiful photos! We absolutely love her work and all our photos from the wedding. Helene is not for the straight-laced wedding goers but for couples who are looking for something different with a little pizazz.

For me, having Helene be our wedding photographer was the second most important thing about the wedding. Chris (the groom) was first. In all seriousness, when we decided (in August) to elope in September she was the first person I called and I was so thrilled when she was happy to make the trip to Tofino and flexible enough to do it on a month's notice.

She is very low-key and easy to relax around, which helps the pictures turn out nicely. Honestly, 2008 was a huge year for weddings for her and we felt she was mildly disorganized with paperwork (which was a turn-off for one set of engaged friends who met with her). However, she never forgot a meeting or missed anything with us, and she took the most gorgeous wedding photos. (I KNOW I didn't look that good, that day or any other!) Looking at them makes me happy every time and several friends cried when they saw them.

She is serious about the quality of her work (she crops in-frame, rather than with photoshop afterward) so it is truly photo-journalistic. She hates it when people want her to crop the photos after, because she feels that she is the artist and got it right the first time. She even (politely) refused my mother's request for a photo to be altered into a blown up, old fashioned head shot to match the one of her and my father's wedding.
