Karin was incredible! She was energetic, kind, thoughtful and encouraging while honest and direct --- she made the whole experience comfortable and fun! She is dedicated to her craft, going to great lengths to get the right shot, and pausing in the moment to capture love, a look, a spontaneous smile or moment in her shots! The creativity, beauty and insight that first attracted us in her portfolio shone through and we are so thrilled with the results in our "sneak peak" photos. I can't recommend Karin and Fotogratopia enough. We were struggling to find a photographer who has a unique style and that didn't require us to get a second mortgage on our condo to afford her. We found Karin and fell in love with her work. We instantly decided she was the one for us when we had our meeting. She is so sincere and interested in what's important to you. Her prices are so reasonable, especially for her caliber of talent and experience. We told her our budget and she worked with it instead of trying to upsell us. Our engagement session was so much more fun than we imagined. She was helped us with our timeline and very organized and easy to work with on our wedding day. She kept us on time and helped sort out a few timing kinks that came up with the venue. We really appreciate how much you enhanced our day and really just took charge of taking care of stressful situations. You really went above and beyond and still managed to not miss a single moment of our wedding! We think Karin had a clone, because she was verywhere at the the same time! We had so many of our guests and family members comment on how great she was. Our pictures are so creative, unique and very "us", just like she promised they would be. Thanks Karin! I HATE being in front of the camera (and being the centre of attention period) but Karin changed that. She made me feel relaxed and at ease and not at all awkward. When we booked her I was totally anti the engagement shoot that was part of our package but she talked me into it by explaining that it was how she’d learn to photograph us for our wedding by teaching us how to be with the camera in our faces. She was obviously right because our wedding photos blew us out of the a water. The people we’ve shown the photos to so far have commented on how good she was.
And she totally rolled with everything, we had a few transportation hiccups that out a kink in plans but she made things work. Kids melting down? Not a problem she still got awesome photos. Neurotic bride with fears about appearing on film? She made me look good and have fun doing it! She was so much fun to work with that I’m actually wishing there was a reason I could hire her again!

We had our destination wedding in Vancouver. We had meetings over Skype with several photographers but fell in love with Karin and her work. We find many other photographers' work looks the same as the next photographer. Karin has her own style and it's clear from looking at her portfolio that she shoots for her subjects. Everyone looks comfortable and sincere in her photos and this drew us. Our pictures and our photo book are spectacular. She's quick to reply to any communication, very professional but very personable and sincere. The value in the packages are excellent as well. I am a wedding videographer and had the pleasure of working alongside Karin earlier this year. I can't recommend her highly enough as someone who will deliver an experience, and not just a product. She has the most wonderful, contagious zest for life, is kind, fun, creative and attentive to detail in everything she does. She kept the couple laughing all day and they went from somewhat camera shy to creating their own poses with confidence! She is so talented at what she does and is always my first recommendation to couples looking for a photographer. She's just amazing.

Karin was amazing. Our wedding pictures are beautiful even though we are shy and weird in front of the camera. She made us feel comfortable and I would even go so far as to say confident. We got some very creative shots, some traditional ones and everything in between. She was really helpful during our wedding day and is sweet and funny. We got married in Banff and Karen was really great to work with. She is very pleasant and has a great energy. She made us feel very comfortable. She managed some of our difficult relatives with incredible charm and grace. She was a little late to deliver our photos, about a week from what we expected. But she kept in touch and we were thrilled with the results. We did some of our pictures in an urban area and when we saw the before and afters of our backgrounds, we realized why she was late to deliver. She had meticulously cleaned up the sidewalks, sides of buildings and all other backgrounds. The differences in the before and afters we saw were night and day and we were glad we waited the extra few days. I have seen many of my friend's wedding photographs and can really see the difference between the care in editing when compared with ours. We have no hesitation in recommending Fotogratopia.

Karin is truly amazing! I was so nervous about the engagement shoot and didn't really want to bother with one, but it was included so we did it. Karin took so much time with us, showing us how to pose and how to look and feel natural in the photos. It really helped us out for the actual wedding day. She was very detail-oriented, asked all the right questions so she was prepared on the day, and most importantly, captured our day so beautifully! Thank you Karin!!!!
