My review is long and ramble-y, like me as a person, so here are the cliffs notes; Kyla was a master of her craft and people! Organized, on time, an absolute joy to work with in every way from the moment we first reached out to her. She was personable with me and my guests; her photos provided matched the style of her gallery perfectly so I got what I thought I was getting (which I know is a big fear a lot of people have when they hire a photographer). When it came to choosing a photographer, I was on pins and needles because my now-husband and I aren't exactly the most photogenic people. I knew I needed a professional photographer if we had even a snowball's chance in heck of looking any good at all on our special day so I planned appropriately to make that a good chunk of our budget! I found Kyla on here and was pleasantly surprised by how BEYOND fair her wedding packages were priced and I absolutely adored the photos in her portfolio - they were exactly what I hoped for my wedding. We hired Kyla nearly 1 year prior to our wedding, maybe a bit more, and had our engagement shoot with her. Our schedules were really restrictive at the time, so my fiancé and I ended up with a shoot on a super cold, drizzly, overcast day in October that we just couldn't reschedule. Kyla was amazing and accommodating; turned up despite the poor lighting, the cold, and our awkward selves and delivered some of the most amazing engagement photos. She was genuinely fun to work with and the photos were better then anything I could have even imagined! From that moment on I basically trusted Kyla to my bones; I knew no matter what went down on my wedding day, this photographer could handle it, and that was like a security blanket leading up to it. Shortly before my wedding, the weather man started calling for rain, and everyone in the bridal party asked the same question since I had planned a lot of my photos outside; 'aren't you worried about the photos???' and I said 'No! just bring an umbrella - Kyla will make it work!' Divine intervention thankfully made our wedding day beautiful and sunny, the umbrellas redundant, but that trust I had in her was so priceless in the weeks where everything else was stressing me to near insanity! From the moment she walked into a bridal party in chaos with a bawling toddler (my daughter was not necessarily on her BEST behaviour), she brought the best possible calm and experience. She was like a reassuring, kind, presence gently guiding us into photos without disrupting the magic of the day. We had locations for photos mostly pre-planned, but she still managed to find another beautiful place I hadn't considered for some of the most amazing couples photos when we ended up with buffer time. Now that I have my photos back, she managed to capture every moment I had not only with my husband but with my guests, and each photo in the gallery recalls a special memory I will cherish. Even after the wedding, I noticed a particular guest had managed to evade the finished product photos, and when I reached out to see if she was in any that didn't make the gallery, Kyla was quick to pull an absolutely stunning raw photo in less than 30 minutes. Even though I am sure it was extra work, she added that and a few other photos to my gallery no questions asked. There is too much to say! Kyla makes the experience easy and enjoyable!! She tops off her high quality experience and character with even higher quality photos (didn’t know that was possible)! Working with Kyla is a dream no matter what you do. She did our engagement photos and our wedding photos. Where I saw a hallway she saw lines and artistic features that turned into wonderful pictures! These memories will last a lifetime! -

A bride’s dream photographer
Kyla’s professionalism was evident from the moment we met. She truly made our photos the memory keepsakes that we hoped for. Her ability to capture the emotions of two lovestruck souls who finally found love was everything we hoped for. She made it easy, she kept us calm and brought out the best in us in every photo, from poses to candid shots. We love our wedding album that she custom made and had to made two of our own because we wanted all of our photos in print. We would highly recommend Kyla. -

Kyla was fantastic, very punctual, well organized and thorough to say the least. She captured every moment of our wedding, shots that I wouldn't have thought about, but I'm glad she did, as it's wonderful to look back at all the details she captured. She was amazing, I cannot describe my level of appreciation and happiness with what she provided for us. I highly recommend Kyla as she was amazing to work with, very energetic and her level of professionalism was superior! -
Meagan G. Sent on 07/05/2017They say that a photo is worth a thousand words, but that's not nearly enough to describe how happy we are that we chose Kyla. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer to capture our wedding day for three reasons:
First, Kyla's personality. We hadn't thought of this before, but it's very important to like your photographer because she is the person you and your partner will spend the whole wedding day with. Kyla is so warm, kind, caring, and personable. We genuinely enjoyed sharing our day with her.
Second, Kyla's work ethic. She was able to efficiently and respectfully manage all of the hectic energy that naturally surrounds a wedding day and make sure that her job was done well, and what a big job that was! Our parents have mobility limitations, and Kyla was able to create beautiful family portraits in Meagan's parent's living room in order to accommodate. Furthermore, because our wedding day was incredibly cold (-20C!), she managed to find a beautiful indoor space near our venue for the two of us to have beautiful photos and not freeze before the ceremony. Kyla worked nonstop the entire day, not to mention the hours she put into planning the proceedings beforehand and the many hours of careful editing she did afterwards. She was reliable and went above and beyond our expectations from the first email we sent her to the day we got our beautiful album delivered.
Third, Kyla's talent. Her photos speak for themselves; candid shots captured so many precious moments and she directed posed photos perfectly. We will truly treasure her talent for the rest of our lives. We cannot thank you enough, Kyla.

Kyla was amazing! Captured the pride from both sets of grandparents along with our son and his fiancee's happiness on that day!
Kyla Raymond Photography will always be our first choice for our future family weddings and any significant moments as she was extremely professional and is so very talented!
