We are such huge fans of Melia’s work, and recently had the privilege of having her shoot our wedding in Vancouver.



Melia’s work has a timeless quality about it, that can’t be paralleled. The level of craft and artistry she has in capturing just the perfect lighting, compositions and genuine moments is striking. 

All the little details, exchanges between people and personalities she’s able to capture in a single moment are spot on. 



Melia was such a joy to work with. She made it so easy and we felt so comfortable with her the entire time.

For someone with such talent and high calibre of work, she is so incredibly kind hearted, down to earth and humble. We honestly couldn't have asked for anyone better.

Originally found Melia's work through social media and instantly gravitated to her photography as she captures moments that has so many emotion and a story behind each photo. Most of her work is Hawaii base as thats where she lives however she offers a package that is available to Vancouver, which is great if thats your wedding location, and it was for my husband and I. We were fortunate enough to enjoy a trip to a Hawaii and planned an engagement photo shoot with her, this allowed her to understand and get a feeling for working with us for the big day. The next day we received our digital copies, did I mention NEXT day, no waiting at all! The photos were spectacular, we received so many compliments from friends and family. This added more excitement to work with her for the wedding. The wedding day Melia and her assistant was amazing at directing us, taking photos at unexpected locations and captured every special moment. Melia is professional and her quality of work shows her craftsmen ship, she keeps things simple but the out come of the photos is far less from simple, its truly amazing. Thank you Melia, hope you work with you again.

After looking at the Lucida website. I knew that we would love our wedding photos, but we were absolutely blown away. I spend way too much time looking at our photos and slideshow. It will be even more amazing to look at them 10, 20....hopefully 50 years from now. Melia and Jules were very flexible in accomodating our last minute request for a very small ceremony, and worked hard to make our photos available quickly. Both Melia and Jules were incredibly professional while still being open and friendly. They captured our special day in an amazing way, as well as detailing our love for each other in a personal,private, and also public way that we still reflect on daily. Our photos have actually inspired some friends to have their photos redone. We have sent friends to Lucida for their wedding photos and they have had the same beautiful results. In the beginning stages of planning our wedding, I did not see the value of a good photographer. This was until I visited the Lucida Photography website and saw photos that brought tears to my eyes. After a brief meeting with Melia and Jules we knew that they had to be a part of our day.

I am still absolutely blown away every time I look at our wedding album. You cannot put a value on the memories that were captured and especially in the beautiful and artistic manner that it was done. Our photos were done before the ceremony and honestly, it was one of our best memories of the day. We can't thank them enough!

Choosing Melia to be our photographer was, by far, one of the best wedding-related decisions we made. We love love love our engagement and wedding photos and it's a testament to Melia's talent that she was able to make my husband and I, two of the most unphotogenic schlubs around (hahaha, for real!), look great in nearly every shot.

After seeing Melia's website and meeting with Melia and Jules, we knew right away that we had to have them come with us to Maui to photograph our wedding - and we were so lucky they were able to come! The photographs are simply breathtaking. We couldn't have asked for better pictures to capture the emotions of our special day. Every picture is truly a work of art.

I was fortunate enough to book Melia Sorenson as the photographer for my wedding! When my husband and I saw our wedding pictures for the first time we could not believe how incredibly gorgeous they were. She has this ability to capture the most beautiful candid moments on film.
