Maigan Cowen Photography offers professional, luxury wedding photography service for stylish, adventurous couples - and works collaboratively with clients to bring their wedding day visions to life. Her approach is organized, confident and fun! Maigan is a self-taught wedding photographer who left the teaching profession to pursue her dream. As a full-time wedding photographer for 11 years, Maigan has photographed over 300 weddings both locally and internationally - including weddings on the Almalfi Coast, Italy, Sedona, Arizona, the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Canada's east coast, and several in the Caribbean including Mexico and Dominican Republic. Recently, Maigan's work was published in print with a cover and full spread in a national wedding magazine, The Bridal Guide. Over the past several years she has focused on educating aspiring photographers and mentoring upcoming talent. Maigan is commited to pushing her professional and creative boundaries is currently focused on expanding her international portfolio and exploring bridal fashion side of the industry.

Wedding Photos!
Having Maigan and Rich as your photographers might be one of the best decisions you could make when it comes to your wedding. They were amazing!! Very professional, and will do anything to get a great shot for you like stand IN an evergreen tree with all the spiders and bugs haha. You can tell they both love what they do and are passionate about it.
When it came time to prepping and scheduling for the day Maigan was so helpful with our timeline and the photos we wanted to capture. We felt a million times lighter after being able to talk to her about everything.
The photos really captured the emotions of the day and are just so creative and simply stunning. We highly recommend Maigan Cowen Photography!

Highly Recommend
Had previously worked with Maigan in a friends wedding and from that day I knew I needed her at our wedding!! Once the time came she was the first vendor we picked and now that the big day has come and gone we couldn't be more thrilled!! Amazing quality in her work and amazing turn around times had us reliving the special day! Highly recommend!!

Absolutely Incredible
I honestly can't say enough great things about Maigan and Rich.
We hired them for our wedding in July 2023 and it was one of the best decisions we made! They were both incredibly professional but also super down to earth, fun and so easy to get along with. We got sneak peaks within a couple days and all 816 amazingly incredible edited photos within 5 weeks. We have a large family and they were able to get amazing pictures of everyone including all the children and our dog! We eneded up with the most incredible pictures that we will absolutely cherish forever! I can't recommend them enough!

Such stunning photography
I've known for years that I wanted Maigan to capture our wedding day, after I fell in love with a shoot she did in the Rockies. As a photographer myself, getting the right photographer was extremely important to me, and I was not disappointed.
Maigan's artistry is evident in each image, her personality and vibes really help you be comfortable in front of the camera and her skills are amazing. My husband and I are in love with all our images, and we were so excited when we got sneak peaks so soon after our wedding. We're both kinda awkward on camera, but Maigan and Avin (her second that day) were great at getting the shots and capturing our day magically. My husband (and the groomsmen) really got along well with Avin, and LOVED his techniques for capturing the images. He also shot on film - which turned out great and really worked well with our 1920's theme for the guys. Maigan was great with the bridal party and we got so many amazing shots of all of us (which is great - cause we're all very awkward on camera haha).
All in all, Maigan captured our wedding day beautifully and we will cherish these images always. It was such a pleasure working with her - and if we could get married again, she's the only one I'd want capturing our day!

The best all around!!! 111/10 would recommend
Maigan was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. I would recommend her to anyone looking for jaw dropping photos of their special day. My friend who isn't even engaged is planning to use Maigan for her wedding- that's how amazing our experience was. Aside from her professionalism that included timely responses, willingness to work with our wishes and keeping to the timeline, she was so WOWing with her creativity. We used a pretty popular venue for photos, but our photos were just as unique. We were in awe of how she was able to lead people in the right direction to get the best shot and make them look just as amazing, she just knew what she was doing. She even was able to think on the spot for a new space to shoot when were 'kicked out' of a public area because another wedding was going on (lol), but said she was not going down without a fight first. There were so many moments captured that we didn't realize would be in our gallery (such as candid's of other guests) and these were such lovely additions that we could share with those that attended. We have received such amazing comments about the quality of our photos and it was all thanks to Maigan and Jess!!!

Wedding photographer
Thank you to Maigan Cowen photography for capturing our wedding day and for allowing us to remember this day for the rest of our lives. Rich and Kayla did an incredible job with our photos. The day was flawless and they were able to capture photos without me even noticing or having to worry about them. They were so fun and positive and made the day just that much more enjoyable. The photos were the exact style we wanted with natural lighting and enhancement to natural colours that will last forever. Can't wait to share them with everyone!! You will not regret going with Magain Cowen Photography for your special day.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience! :)
Our experience with Maigan Cowen Photography was wonderful. We had the unique experience of having our engagement photoshoot with Maigan herself, and having her associate, Rich Johnson, photograph our wedding. We really enjoyed Maigan's vibrant and fun energy throughout the engagement photoshoot, and were immediately impressed with her artistic abilities when we saw the way she captured the autumn landscape in unique ways. We then had Rich and his associate, Vishal, capture our wedding. Rich initially photographed the bride's side while Vishal photographed the groom's, until the ceremony -- we didn't have a first look, and Rich & Vishal worked well together to get numerous prep and candid photos around the venue while ensuring that the bride and groom didn't cross paths. Then, during and after the ceremony, the two worked together to capture so many magical moments throughout the day. They had creative ideas to photograph us beautifully amongst different scenery, all within the same venue. We were grateful to get to work with multiple talented members of the Maigan Cowen Photography team. To top it all off - Maigan sent us our wedding photos much sooner than expected! It was such a lovely surprise, and we were ecstatic with all the photos Rich & Vishal took, and the way that Maigan edited them to make everything all the more beautiful - the colours are stunning! Overall, we could not be happier with our experience, and we would definitely recommend Maigan and her team to anyone.

Don't look for another photographer!!
Hiring Maigan was the very FIRST thing on my list to book once I got engaged before any vendor- I booked her 2 days after! When you know, you know 😏 After finding her work from familiar accounts on Instagram I didn't look at anyone elses portfolio. She has very clean, crisp, simple and elegant photos, never looking too edited which I knew right away was how I want my important life moments captured.
We hired her for our engagement and wedding photos, and then I needed our family photos done by her as well! She was never late for meeting up for our meeting or any of the 3 shoots I've had her for since the engagement photos, she is very organized and responsive.
Our wedding was in 2020 so everyone knows how many times plans changed and how extra stressful it was but I was never concerned about Maigan. She made me feel like all the changes were no big deal, done.
Being on scene with Maigan is the easiest part of your wedding day. She's always communicating with and coaching you, ensuring each pose is perfect "trust it" is what she kept telling me even when I felt silly- the photos are perfect. Maigan brings amazing vibes to the shoots, her passion for her photography and capturing the right shots shows the whole way through. Once you've been around Maigan for about 5-10 minutes it's like having another friend there with you who's over the top rooting for you the whole time and helping you. I couldn't have asked for anything more with her with my engagement shoot being one of the first times I ever had photos done.
I still am looking through and trying to decide of which photos to put up in my home and I always look through them, they'll forever be timeless and classic.
As I and most people have said: we found her from her work speaking for itself, look at her photos/work and you won't need to look anywhere else! If you made it this far in my review then go book her right now!!

Wedding & Engagement Photo Review
Wedding planning comes with a lot of decisions, and choosing Maigan as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made! Maigan did both our wedding and engagement phots - we love how she captures perfect lighting and candid moments. I also don't like when photos look overedited, and Maigan does an amazing job of enhancing photos while keeping everything looking natural. Not only were the photos incredible, but Maigan was super responsive to e-mails and flexible with scheduling. On the day of the wedding, we were running behind and she kept everyone on track, ensuring every moment was captured, everyone was where they needed to be, and kept us laughing the whole time. Her direction ensured that the photos were authentic, professional, and memories that we will cherish for a life time! Cannot recommend enough!

Professional, talented artist
Being amateur photographers ourselves, choosing a wedding photographer was so important to us. We spent a lot of time searching for someone, but as soon as I stumbled upon Maigan's work I knew she was the one. She has the modern yet simply elegant style with amazing quality we were looking for. I was so excited I messaged her right away and started praying she had our date available. She has always been quick to respond to emails and very accommodating. I mean she even squeezed in our engagement session while she was on a trip to Arizona. If that doesn't speak of her passion....On our wedding day she arrived early and stayed late. She was very organized, professional and so much fun to be around. She kept us calm and had us laughing the whole day. After we received our wedding album (which we got 3 weeks after the wedding!!) my family kept teasing me about staring at the photos all day. But it's true! I am still in awe over them. Probably the best advice we received when wedding planning was to not cheap out on a photographer! Although I remember being pleasantly surprised at the extremely fair value of Maigan's quality and professionalism, this is advice I will pass on as well. Maigan captured the most important moments of our life so far and brought them to life in the most beautiful way. These are photos my family and I will cherish for the rest of our lives. If you are looking for a photographer for any occasion, look no further. It doesn't get better than Maigan!
