Beautiful memories during a very difficult time for Marcin

We hired Marcin at the strong recommendation from a cousin of ours, whose wedding photos were exactly the artistic style we wanted. In the lead up to the wedding, we did have some difficulty getting a hold of Marcin, but once we did he was very helpful in the weeks leading up to the event. We talked through drafts of the schedule for the day and Marcin provided good advice that made us feel comfortable heading into the wedding.

On the wedding day, Marcin was fantastic. He worked around some big personalities, and stayed true to the atmosphere we wanted to create. One of our most memorable moments of the day was sneaking away from the venue after dinner and breaking into Lamport Stadium with Marcin for some really unique photos.

After the day, as others have stated, communication did go quiet. Prior to the wedding, Marcin had made us aware of some of the health issues he was experiencing, but I don't think either of us understood the extent. Sadly this did lead to a painful period as we tried to connect. Hindsight of course is 20/20, and I wish we could have been aware of Marcin's struggles so instead of having feelings of anger we could have showed more empathy and patience.

Despite his personal situation, Marcin delivered our photos to our door and we could not have been happier with them. With all the digital copies, in various artistic forms, we have made photo books and albums for ourselves and family, all remarking at how they captured the event. A couple years on now and a particularly mugshot-looking photo still remains my phone background.

Marcin is a fantastic photographer, and a calming presence throughout a wedding day. We encountered him at a difficult time in his life, but I would gladly recommend him to others.

Wonderful Person & Photographer

Marcin photographed our wedding in July of 2014. For my husband, the photographer was one of the non-negotiables, they had to be high quality. Marcin certainly did not disappoint. From the first time meeting with him he was warm, charismatic and excited about our vision, which was on the quirky side! Leaving our meeting with Marcin we needed to look no further. My husband and I signed a contract with Marcin in March 2016 for our August 2017 wedding and sent him a $1,000 deposit. After he accepted our etransfer we literally never heard from him again.

In February 2017 I reached out to him via email for assistance putting together a timeline. After several weeks of radio silence I checked his Facebook page and was disturbed to find out from the complaints posted by others that he'd gone AWOL. Long story short, Marcin still has our money, and has yet to reply to any of our calls, texts, emails, etc. He's since posted publicly about his personal struggles, which I assume he thinks absolves him of responsibility.

Marcin was shameless in taking our deposit and disappearing. Please, don't hire him.

Never could I imagine that such seemingly amicable people such as yourselves are, to this day, trying to portray me as a scam artist despite knowing full well I was incapacitated, hospitalized and even on life support the past few years. Talk about kicking someone when they are down. In all honesty, the fact you actively chose to pick on those unable to defend themselves says more about you than it does me. If what you are saying is true, why hide behind such an anonymity and not your real names. I just hope, that heaven forbid, if either of you or your loved ones is...

-While we really like our wedding photos, I would not recommend hiring Marcin as your wedding photographer. It took almost 9 months to receive any of our photos, though we are extremely glad that we did finally receive them. During that time there was very little communication from Marcin (an email from him once every couple months on average)

-If you DO decide to hire Marcin, I'd HIGHLY recommend you make sure the contract he signs with you indicates a time frame to return the photos to you that you are comfortable with. -He showed up over an hour late to our initial meeting before we hired him. Maybe this should have been a red flag but he seemed genuinely apologetic and offered a $100 discount off his wedding photo package if we still wanted to hire him. We liked his style so we decided to go ahead with him.

-His explanation for the long delay that he gave his clients in the mass emails he sent was that he was dealing with personal issues (which I do not feel need to be voiced here in a public forum). Unfortunately I still do not believe waiting almost 9 months for our wedding photos is in any way acceptable, as we all have our own personal issues we are dealing with. Communication is key, and to keep your clients waiting with barely any communication is not how one should manage their business.

-After finally receiving our photos in the mail, he did apologize via text message and offer a 12"x18" complimentary canvas print of our favourite image. This was almost four months ago and we have not received anything, though we are not holding our breath.

I am writing this review as a warning to any future brides and grooms from the services of this vendor, or more appropriately , lack of services. Marcin was contracted in November for a June Wedding. A deposit was provided and then mysterious dissappeared, after continued attempts at contact, via phone and email, no response was ever provided. Following an email ending the contract to him, he promptly responded the day after. With all that goes into a wedding to have such a important role in a photographer go MIA and have us abandoned in this process is such a disrespectful and dishonest act. We were married and have now lost our deposit and yet to receive our money back. I truly warm others away from this vendor and his immaturity, there is no point.

Marcin was the last person we met with, and we knew immediately that he was our guy. He has a great sense of humour and is calm/cool/collected - exactly the type of person you want to spend your wedding day with (because let's be frank, the photographer is with you for each and every moment, so it's nice when it's someone who is level headed and can make you laugh). The joy and fun is captured perfectly from photo one to photo eight hundred and something. We wanted the day captured in a candid and natural way, but still wanted some of the "classic shots" (with our families and our bridal party), and that is exactly what we got. Our only criticism would be that it took longer than we were anticipating to get our photos after our wedding, but they were well worth the wait (and to be fair, we did a last minute engagement session with Marcin a few weeks before our wedding and he had those photos back to us within a few days). Marcin is passionate about his work, and it shows in the quality of our photos. We would highly recommend Marcin to anyone!

I spent a lot of time researching wedding photographers because I was looking for one with a photojournalistic style. I did not want typical traditional 'cheesy' photos to look back on our big day. I stumbled on Marcin's website and really liked his portfolio. When we first met, my husband & I were impressed with his obvious passion for all things photography.

We've worked with Marcin 3 times in 2.5 years for our engagement, wedding and maternity shoots. Marcin has a great artistic eye and his spontaneous & adaptable approach have resulted in beautiful moments captured in time! Because he is so frequently booked, the only downside is that his turnaround time is a bit long for...

Because he is so frequently booked, the only downside is that his turnaround time is a bit long for the final pictures. That being said, he gave us several same day edits on our wedding day as a special request and then a few more fairly quickly afterwards so we could print 'Thank You' cards. The final gallery he sent via DropBox contained both low res (online) and high res (print, no watermark) versions of ALL the pictures (hundreds+)... excellent quality & value!

We have no hesitation recommending Marcin to others, in fact 2 of our good friends have gone on to also book their weddings with him. We're very happy with the quality of his talented work and we constantly receive compliments on his work. Thanks Marcin!

We couldn't be happier with these. The only somewhat negative comment I have to make regarding the overall experience is in the difficulty I had getting responses from him as well as the length of time it took for our photos to come (a few months)--which wouldn't have been an issue if there had been a bit more communication. However, in all fairness, our wedding was over the Christmas holidays AND happened to be in the middle of an ice storm and major blackout, all of which certainly excuse some delay.

All in all, I highly recommend Marcin Moka Photography if you want to get some cool, edgy, artistic photos and have a fun time doing it.

An absolutely brilliant photographer. We are not into the traditional, run-of-the-mill couple and we desperately wanted our photos to reflect what we believe to be our unique and creative nature. That is how we came to find Marcin. Truly a visionary, he brought the spirit of our wedding alive. He not only captured the true spirit of us and our endearingly zany wedding party, but he did so in such a stunning visual way. As a self-proclaimed art lover, I must profess that he produced masterpieces as far as wedding photos go. That is no exaggeration. I could never have asked for a better photographer to capture one of the most important days of my life. He even had the patience to photograph our beloved dog at our request.
Artistically and professionally you cannot go wrong.

Marcin was recommended to us by some musician friends who had used him to photograph their wedding. He met with us in advance of our wedding and made us feel very comfortable with his ability to provide the creativity and talent we needed for our special day. He also emailed back and forth with us providing prompt answers to any questions that came up before our day. We wanted to be able to capture the whole event in a way that was natural and spontaneous. Marcin is a master at this and he provided us with a whole album of memorable and unique photos that we have shared with our family and friends and will treasure forever. We would highly recommend Marcin to anyone and will definitely hire him again in the future for other occasions.
