Absolutely stunning photos! They look a movie scene. Mark and Tim were fantastic making us feel at ease and having fun while effortlessly instructing us on poses for the photos. They also captured all of the candid shots and got great photos of each and every guest enjoying the day and night. Highly recommend.

In Sept 2022, we hired Mark for our Feb 2023 wedding. He had been the photographer at a friends wedding and his work was good. From the beginning, our experience with Mark was abysmal.
He showed up for the first meeting late and was in a rush to leave. We tried to talk to him about our vision for our wedding and ideas for the engagement shoot. He was barely interested. He was in a rush for another photoshoot and said "we will talk about it later."

We set a date for our engagement shoot - but then never heard back from him. Tried to contact him to talk to him about ideas that we wanted. Never heard from him. Had to call him the day before our shoot to find out what time and where we needed to be. We suggested a location, but his response was "No, we are going to go here instead, because I have to pick up my son after school." It was October and the sun sets early. We look time off of work to get ready for the shoot and show up on time. It was supposed to be from 5 - 6 pm. Mark showed up at 5:30 pm. Sunset was exactly at 6 pm. We had to rush through our photoshoot, racing against the sunset. Only to find out that Mark had been busy helping a friend move, which is why he was late. What happened to his son? Not sure.

Mark, on his own volition, told us we would get photos the next day. We didn't. Not the day after or the day after. We asked for 4-5 photos to use for our wedding website. It was always "yes, you will get them tonight." and then nothing. We finally got some photos and they were good. I'll admit he has an eye for photography. But his inability to follow up with clients and be honest, is appalling.

According to Mark, we were always going to talk about photos for our wedding weekend "closer to the wedding." but it's unclear, how and when that was going to happen because he never set a date. Every time we booked a call with him (on our own volition), he would either 1) forget that we had the call booked or 2) double book himself and have to call us back (which he never did).

We were less than two weeks out from our wedding and had family starting to arrive shortly into town. Our vendors were waiting on some final decisions that we couldn't make without talking to Mark. We texted, called, emailed information to him. Never a reply. Never a response. Never a "sorry guys, I'm busy, let's set a meeting and talk on this day." If something was going on in his personal life, we have no idea. He was completely incommunicado.

We messaged Mark on Saturday to talk, then called him on Sunday twice. Texted him. No response.

The relationship had deteriorated so much that we were forced into the position of looking for a new photographer less than two weeks before our wedding. This caused a bunch of stress, as anyone planning a wedding can imagine. The response we got from other photographers very clearly showcased to us that Mark was not interested in our business at all.

It was late Wednesday night, a week before our wedding, that we fired Mark via email. Until then, we hadn't heard a single peep from him.

The only time Mark was on time or initiated contact was when we had to pay him the deposit. Not surprisingly, we never got that back.

The sad part is that we have met lots of people who have worked with Mark and I kept looking for reviews on him - they all were positive. Which confuses me completely and is the reason I am leaving this review. If anyone is thinking of hiring Mark for their wedding, I would seriously NOT recommend.

There is enough stress leading up to your wedding day. Your photographer is one of the most important vendors at your wedding. The last thing you need is Mark Cooper and his horrific service.

Mark Cooper is an outstanding photographer. Attentive and kind, he went out of his way to make the process of engagement photos and wedding photos a success and joy. As a couple, we like quality photos, but can be camera shy. He was so patient in listening to our love story, catching tender moments, getting photos that were posed, but also that were spontaneous. He was even thoughtful with regards to the weather (and mindful of our busy schedules), suggesting times that would allow us to get the best image and the most gorgeous sunlight. We received our fully processed engagement photos four days after the photo shoot… and at the very same time received the gift of peace of mind. The photos were phenomenal! We were able to use them for our wedding website, and we still share them to this day! We were very happy with our experience. When the time came for our wedding day, the experience was also a breeze. He checked in with us a month prior to our wedding. We had a phone call to discuss our extensive family photo list. Once again, he was patient through it all, and this was the same for our wedding day. From 11 a.m. to the late-night cake cutting, without forgetting speeches and the dancefloor photos, Mark did not miss a beat. He worked in the company of a second photographer named Tim. Our family and friends were so pleased with the experience. “Your photographer is so approachable!” “We haven’t had family pictures in so long!” “Thank you for making us feel so welcomed and included!” It was a perfect day! The most intense exercise was a receiving line for all of our guests! It is to this day one of our most memorable wedding day souvenirs. The day was a blur, but we have photos with everyone. We received the photos 23 days later, fully processed, and exactly to our liking! Mark, thank you for everything! We appreciate what you have done for us as a couple, and will be recommending you to all friends! Thank you very much!

Mark worked very hard to get the perfect r shot. In the end.. he was successful and there were many excellent shots in the package. Mark goes above and beyond to capture the best shots and he does it with a smile and a great sense of humour. Unfortunately. Mark broke his foot during our session but he continued to work another 6 hours in pain to complete his job.( not expected) That is complete professionalism and commitment to finishing his job. We would highly recommend. We also wish him a speedy recovery.

Mark was recommended to us by the venue and we couldn’t have been more pleased by the outcome. He was patient with us before the wedding as nerves set in, was able to fix an eyelash and took the most beautiful photos. Not sure how we will choose which was one to develop.

Mark was such a nice and personable photographer to work with, both emailed and texted with me, and got us our photos in record time (two days post-wedding, I was amazed!). Our friends and family could not stop saying how much they liked him on our wedding day, and he got beautiful shots of every guest there which was so nice for us to be able to provide to them all.

Our pictures captured every moment of the day, with two photographers all day they really didn't miss a thing. The only small thing I would have wanted more of would be natural candid shots of me and my husband. Mark is amazing at magazine-level posed photos, and it did get us some gorgeous shots, I truly felt like a model sometimes. However, that's not really mine or my husband's style so some more natural options would have just been the cherry on top.

Mark was friendly, directive, came in with a vision, took beautiful, stunning photos, came to the venue early, even helped my now husband with some set up, and the price was better than anything we could ask for. It was a very pleasurable experience. I will be recommending him to people for their events.

Mark came highly recommended by several people and we were not disappointed! He took beautiful shots of our special day and was lovely to work with.

Fortunately for us we found Mark through a mutual friend, and he absolutely nailed every shot on our big day. His commitment to excellence is evident in everything he does with and the results are nothing short of breath-taking.

Mark Cooper photography is the best in Ottawa and region. We scoped multiple companies before finding Mark. Most companies could only show a few good pictures from multiple weddings, but Marks full weddings were phenomenal! We had him shoot our wedding and he lived up to the expectation!!! Our pictures turned out elegant, beautiful and sharp! As a photographer myself, I was blown away!
