The moment I saw Michelle's photo of a couple with a van I knew she was the one. Her vintage boho vibe was exactly what we were looking for and she did not disappoint. She is a true artist and I knew I would end up with pictures I would absolutely love but what I didn't expect was the time she took months before the wedding to truly get to know us and also help with the timeline of the wedding which was more help than I could imagine.
Since my husband and I aren't much of the photo type, the engagement session was a great trial run for the wedding day. It allowed us to feel comfortable in front of the camera and also gave us some amazing photos that are more "everyday" us and not so "fancy" us.
The day of the wedding Michelle and her husband Shane made us feel like we were in good hands and did not have to stress about anything. They kept us on track for the day but were also able to go with the flow and change the plan when we decided to change things up near the end of the day.
In the end, my husband and I could not be more happy with how the images turned out. We got a great mix of us photos and guest photos, really capturing the day. If I had to change anything I would have kept them longer.Michelle Larmand Photography's reply:

When we were looking for our wedding photographer, we had a specific vibe in mind. I knew that our photographer was the most important hire, and we had to find someone who's vision matched ours. We wanted someone who could capture every moment in a carefree, whimsical, unstaged way. I could tell by looking through Michelle's IG that she was a perfect fit and we were so lucky she was available for our wedding.
We were terrified going into our engagement shoot. Neither of us had ever taken professional photos before, and all I could imagine was a Talladega Nights style "what do I do with my hands?" fiasco. Immediately Michelle made us feel at ease, and the whole shoot went perfectly. It felt like we were just hanging out and Michelle happened to be there taking photos of us. The photos turned out incredible, and any fears we had about our wedding photos were put to rest.
Michelle and our wedding planners worked together to create a perfect timeline for the day of. There were so many moments that Michelle made sure to set aside time to photograph that I would never have even thought of.
Our wedding photos were better than I ever imagined. Getting to look through the pictures for the first time was like reliving our wedding day. Michelle and her husband Shane were such wonderful people to have in our corner on our big day. They captured every single moment from every single angle, as if they were both in three places at once. Not to mention my husband and I had a great time hanging out with them! They are wonderful people and will make sure that you have the best wedding experience with incredible photos to match. Now our only problem is trying to decide which of the photos are our favorites! We can't wait to work with Michelle again in the future.Michelle Larmand Photography's reply:

Our love captured so perfectly!
From the moment we reached out to Michelle to photograph our wedding day, we knew she was the one ! Lance and I wanted someone that had an outgoing personality and who was organized with their clients. Michelle was just that ( & more !!) as she helped us plan out our wedding timeline AND was able to scout out the most amazing locations! Ever moment she captures truly shows the raw emotions and love that couples have for each other. Michelle is so lovely to be around and her work is out of this world. We can’t thank Michelle enough for gifting us a lifetime of memories captured on our special day.

Michelle was absolutely amazing. She is truly gifted and captures love so purely. I am so so grateful we had her as our photographer for both our engagement shoot and small wedding. The photos are breathtaking and are such special memories for us. She is so professional and delivers such amazing work. But beyond that she is just plain awesome and so fun to be around! It was so great getting to know her and had complete trust on the wedding day for her to work her magic as she just felt like a friend by the big day 🤍 the best decision we made for our wedding was booking Michelle, highly recommend!!!Michelle Larmand Photography's reply:

We worked with Michelle with our engagement photos in 2019 to our wedding in April 2021. Michelle was very professional and patient with us, explained all her packages and was very prompt in her responses (we were often the ones delaying her). She was very understanding and flexible in accommodating the changes we had to make in the wake of COVID-19 and the eventual postponing of our wedding to 2021. She went out of her way to scope out new venues and photo spots for us numerous times.
Her work itself is amazing - we loved her pictures - the angle, lighting, and direction for poses. We'd definitely work with her again and would recommend her to any couple planning their wedding!Michelle Larmand Photography's reply:

We often sit down and look at our wedding images to reflect on the day. Our decision to elope was one that we are so pleased with. Having that day to ourselves was better than we could’ve imagined.
I’d say that the biggest challenge we faced with eloping was our unfamiliarity with the area and vendors in terms of creating a plan for our wedding day. Our original plans had been cancelled due to covid-19 so we took the leap and decided to elope. With only a couple months to plan before hitting the road, we had some details to figure out! At first, this felt a little overwhelming.
All worries went away when we hired Michelle! She was so helpful throughout the process. She told me about trusted vendors in the area, and different locations we could use for the ceremony and photos. This came in handy when we arrived in Banff and realized Moraine Lake would be way too busy for our vision, and changed our wedding location the night before our wedding. All I had to do was look at a past email Michelle had sent me with a list of locations around Banff. We drove to the locations that night and then found our perfect spot by Lake Minnewanka! Michelle was very accommodating about this change, and even scouted out the area before we arrived on our wedding day so that she knew where we could go to get the perfect images!
We are both so happy with our decision to elope. We had an amazing experience- with it just being us. Having a great photographer there just made things that much better. Michelle was even one of our witnesses for the ceremony! There was no stress of trying to keep up with the events of the day. We were able to just focus on us and the fact that we were actually getting married. Even when I was almost fainting (heat and some potential dehydration/elevation sickness), there was very little stress as it was just us. Michelle even offered me snacks and water. You’d also never know this all happened by looking at the images! Our images turned out beautifully. As someone who is not always comfortable in front of the camera- I felt confident with Michelle. She has a way of making you feel at ease. The photos were always something that was very important to me, and even more so because of our decision to elope. We did not have any family or friends there with us, so we are thrilled to have beautiful images that we can proudly show our loved ones that really capture our day.
For anyone who may be on the fence about hiring Michelle- don’t be. Hiring Michelle was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. I like to do my research and I did. Immediately after talking to Michelle over FaceTime, I felt comfortable with the decision to move forward. She was so down to earth but also professional and knowledgeable. Good vibes all around.
We are so happy with our images and our experience with Michelle. I feel like anyone would be lucky to have Michelle as their photographer for their wedding day!
