Back when I was looking for a photographer - I felt like most of the wedding pictures I saw looked the same. Same poses. Same background. Blah. Then I came across Lisa and I fell in love with her photography style. She's the master of candid shots and her pictures have such a unique warm-rustic-modern feel. She is so friendly and down-to-earth. From the first consult on she has made us feel confident in our decision to book her and comfortable in front of the camera. Being someone that doesn't like their picture taken - that was a big deal for me!
We had a winter wedding and so the weather was a concern for us but she reassured us that she is comfortable working in any type of weather. On our wedding day, it was a chilly -10 but Lisa was speedy and efficient and even had the perfect location in Canmore. She even sent us "sneak peek" pictures the night of our wedding day! We did our engagement pictures with her too (part of the package) and they all turned out awesome. I have no doubt the rest of our wedding pictures will be amazing too.
It was a tough decision going ahead with a wedding during the strictest restrictions yet in COVID but we have no regrets! We had a small ceremony with only 10 people in attendance and with many of our friends and family not being able to join us, I know because of Lisa, we will have cherished pictures to show off for a very long time!

When I first started planning my wedding, I was told by every “just engaged” article, wedding forum, and former bride I knew that photography was not something to cheap out on for your wedding. So, I set out across Instagram looking for my dream photographer, and let me tell you I FOUND HER. Lisa’s style is a perfect mix of cool-girl Pinterest perfection and authentic, candid realness. She is professional and approachable; organized and prepared for every little thing before, during, and after the wedding (clearly a seasoned pro) but also focused on ensuring that everybody felt completely at-ease. It honestly felt more like she and her partner were part of the bridal party instead of being hired professionals, which is honestly exactly what you want on your wedding day.

She was always there lending a helping hand; bustling my dress, fixing my hair, or even tweaking the little details of the décor to ensure that she had the best shot. Her communication is also amazing, as I could send her a text and she’d get back to me almost immediately. She sent sneak peeks of our wedding day by like 10 AM the next morning which, as I understand it, is almost unheard of in the photography world. It was so special to go over a few of the pictures the morning after, while we were still all sitting around the breakfast table.

Another incredible thing about Lisa is that she merges her artistic vision with any suggestions or preferences you have. For example, while we were walking around the property, I asked if we could take some pictures with this old truck along the side of the road. Lisa immediately got this look in her eye, and we worked through a couple shots that turned out INCREDIBLY. I absolutely adored how I could bounce ideas off of her, leading to this gorgeous creative collaboration that just felt so authentically ‘us’. I also let her know that I am self-conscious about my side profile, and guess what percentage of pictures I’ve seen that make it look like I have a jawline chiseled my Michelangelo himself?! ALL OF THEM!

This woman is not only an absolute WIZARD at photography, she is genuinely one of the loveliest and most dedicated people I’ve ever met. It was an absolute pleasure to work with her, and I absolutely cannot recommend her enough. The number of compliments I’ve received not only about the photos themselves but how wonderful she was throughout the day is actually insane, like, I’m getting a little jealous. Anyway, if you are looking for a photographer that will:

1) Make you feel completely at ease
2) Ensure that you look like a for-real Instagram model even when you’re sobbing hysterically
3) Take shots that make you look way cooler than you actually are
4) Stay authentic to your personalities as a couple
3) Listen to you and apply her professional knowledge to accomplish your *~aEsThEtIc~*
4) Help with the little things to ensure that every detail is captured perfectly
5) Shower you with compliments and laugh at your dad jokes, funny or not

Lisa is the photographer for you. Book her. Right now. Don’t think about it, your search is over. Change your wedding date if you have to. She’s so worth it.
