My name is Tanya Miles and I’m one of the faces behind the lens at Mirror Side Photography. I grew up on Vancouver Island and call the Pacific Northwest my home. I love spending my days with my family in the backcountry hiking with them and friends and spending my evenings relaxing with a cup of tea and a good book.

Ever since I was a little girl, I've had a camera in my hands. My father was always taking photos and the apple didn't fall far from that tree. I've had the opportunity to travel across Canada and document the landscapes around me, capture the special family moments and explore some of the most amazing architecture for fine art prints.

I pride myself on capturing those special moments that can stop the world for a breath. From large weddings and vast open landscapes to intimate boudoir and family portrait sessions, I'm always striving to make a memory like no other.

I also love collaborating on others' creative juices, so if you have an idea, please reach out and let's chat, I’d love to help be a part of it. I'm not afraid to get a little dirty to get that perfect shot.

Originally, I was born on the Island but was raised here and in the prairies. However, I will always call the Island my home and I will gladly take the gloomy rainy days and wet winters over the cold snow and blistering heat any day.

I’ve always had a love for capturing special moments to be documented and cherished for years to come. I remember when I inherited my first camera. I couldn’t go anywhere without it. Now, you can almost always find me with a camera in hand or within arm’s reach. It’s where I love to pour all my creativity and energy. When I’m not obsessing about photography, you can find me out hiking in the backcountry with one of my best friends, exploring this piece of paradise with my son, spending time by the ocean, or caring for my ever-expanding houseplant collection (one would say it might be more of an addiction)

My primary focus is on family and solo portrait sessions and boudoir photography. However, my love spans so much more. Everything from newborn photos to engagement and wedding photos, professional headshots, and everything in between.
