From the moment I met Joy, I knew she was something special. My eyes well with tears as I write this even now. Our culture makes taking pictures something so full of stress and pressure, but the minute I saw Joy’s smile I was truly overcome with peace. I had been so anxious about the engagement photo shoot, but right away Joy’s sunshine cleared my anxiety away and turned the session into SO MUCH FUN! My husband and I had an absolute blast with her, and she made us both feel completely comfortable in front of the camera (something that is not easy for either of us!). Joy is goofy, genuine, and a true epitome of her name, joyful.

Joy is incredibly gifted at her job. From the moment we started, she helped us pose and learn how to be in front of the camera. Her coaching put us at ease, and her humor made us laugh all throughout the sessions. Never once did we feel uncomfortable. She has an incredible eye for detail, whether it’s the awkward bend of an arm or a few strands of hair across your face, she catches it and fixes it so it won’t ruin the pictures. She knows how to work with lighting like a master! Truly, I’m obsessed with the pictures she took of us, and I am SO glad we had her do our engagement, bridals, and our wedding day. She made me feel beautiful in every session and captured pictures that we will treasure forever.

As I sit here, I can say with confidence that having Joy around on my wedding day was one of the greatest blessings. She carried the peace and confidence I needed that day. She made me feel so at ease through the whole day, and I know for a fact that my day would not have been the same without her. I really adore this woman, if you can’t tell! She is so incredibly talented in photography, but she is also such a wonderful gift herself.

We cannot sing enough praises about Joy. Everyone that met her loved her and asked us how we found her, to which we both smiled and said, “It was truly a God thing.” I am so incredibly grateful to have met Joy. She makes any occasion beautiful with her sunshine and skills. We can’t wait to have another reason to call Joy up for pictures because we genuinely adore her and love being in her presence.
