Choosing a great photographer was a huge priority for us, it’s not easy sifting through reviews and portfolios online, but luckily Rick was recommended to us by a family member who had worked with him before. BEST DECISION EVER! We couldn’t have asked for a better photo/video team with Rick and Cheryl. They were professional but also super laid back and fun, were all over the place - from scaling cliffs to lying in the dirt - just to get the perfect shot, and also put in one heck of a long day. The final product blew our minds... If you are looking for unique, beautiful storytelling – look no further! you wont regret this :)

If I could book Rick to follow me around and document my entire life, I would. Not only does he see beauty in every moment, he sees it in a way nobody else can. He then shares his vision through the most unique and stunning imagery. Creativity aside, Rick is also someone you want to know. Partnered with his lovely (and equally talented) wife Cheryl, their process is flexible, seamless and personal. They are chameleons who are everywhere and nowhere all at once. And they are the perfect combination of fun, artistic and professional, and their work will blow everyone's mind. What can I say that hasn't already been said about photographer Rick Collins? He did exactly what he said he would do - he showed up early and stayed late and was charming and warm and wonderful. He had a calming presence on me and my family in our scramble to get ready. He was everywhere and nowhere all at the same time. A real ninja. And all of our guests said the same thing: who is that great guy? Certainly he captured all of the usual moments, but when we saw our pictures we were blown away at the amount of beautiful unexpected photographs he got including a lot of things we didn't even see on the day....What can I say that hasn't already been said about photographer Rick Collins? Rick is an artist, he captured the positive energy and love of our wedding day in an absolutely stunning manner. I didn't want the typical awkwardly posed wedding day shots, or the mass amount of photo editing and retouching. Rick is pure talent and doesn't rely on gimmicks, he captured so many candid shots in a stunning manner, and brought out the beauty and raw emotions of all my loved ones in his photographs. He kept me calm on my wedding day, never got in the way of things, he was literally like a ninja the way he moved around the crowd sneakingly taking photographs…. and he made sure we stayed on track and got me to the alter...Rick is an artist, he captured the positive energy and love of our wedding day in an absolutely stunning manner. My Husband and I are still blown away by Rick's talent, and the quality of our images.
Upon meeting Rick, Brian and I felt completely at ease. His calm demeanour, imaginative eye and attention to detail is evident in the final product.
Rick captured our day, moments, laughter and tears whilst always staying in the background. Rick was not phased by bad weather, a rushed schedule or hectic family.

On your wedding day you want a photographer that is not in your hair, has ideas but is not pushy, can document the real tender moments and raw emotion, can take photos anywhere, and can capture the details of not only yourselves, your venue but also your guests. Rick is capable of doing all those things - and more.
Originally our budget was priced lower for photography, but after looking at his work (I strongly urge those that are reading this review to visit his website and blog) and reading reviews we had to have him. Rick even generously gave us a leather-bound book from Italy, free of charge. He...Rick was an absolute pleasure to work with!

Recently, I was in another wedding party where Rick was the photographer and again I was highly impressed. He has a sense of humour (which everyone needs an amount of on their wedding day), is very professional and captures amazing, detailed, beautiful photos!

Rick captured so many special moments during two very special days - our wedding ceremony in a remote town on Vancouver island and then our backyard wedding reception in West Vancouver. Rick and his wife joined us a day before the ceremony to explore and capture some beautiful shots. We absolutely love the pictures. They were both a pleasure to spend time with and extremely professional.
My husband and I generally don't like getting our pictures taken, so we wanted to stay away from poses and capture the moments. He did just that and got some stunning natural shots.

During the events Rick provided guidance to family and friends, when needed, which was much appreciated to keep things moving and get the best shots. He was always non-intrusive and checked in periodically to see if there's anything special we wanted. He also told us what time / location would make for the best shots and then pulled us away when it was time. He was quick and provided sufficient direction, still allowing us to enjoy the moment.
I would highly recommend Rick Collins photography! I look forward to working with Rick on our next special occasion. -

Rick's photography is incredible, he seems to be able to be everywhere at once, yet never conspicuous. His unique perspective and interesting way of composing the shots makes his work stand out from all the others we looked at - and he is great fun to have around!

He was respectfully at our side every step of the way; I can almost guarantee you won't find a more passionate, talented photographer anywhere.
