Choosing Kate & Andrew from Visual Roots to do our wedding photography hands-down, one of the absolute best decisions of our whole wedding. Their high quality of work, and attention to detail is unlike any other. Everything I had dreamed of came to life, and was captured beautifully, words cannot describe. The whole day went by in the blink of an eye, and because of Visual Roots - no moment will go forgotten, every laugh, tear and drink was captured. I have already started planning where to hang our photos around the house. Visual Roots Photography works for THREE very excellent reasons:
1) Excellent service provided through the value of having 2 photographers (instead of just one) both focused on a different aspect of your wedding day but able to follow a similiar style.
Reason 1 explained:
Basically Kate works with the bride - and captures the excitement of her preparation, while Andy is with the groom and guys, capturing their own nervous prep. During the ceremony and throughout the rest of the time both are working very hard to capture every special moment, sometimes the same moment from very different, equally spectacular angles! Although they capture different things, they work together to capture an overall feel to the...Visual Roots Photography works for THREE very excellent reasons:
1) Excellent service provided through the value of having 2 photographers (instead of just one) both focused on a different aspect of your wedding day but able to follow a similiar style.
Reason 1 explained:
Basically Kate works with the bride - and captures the excitement of her preparation, while Andy is with the groom and guys, capturing their own nervous prep. During the ceremony and throughout the rest of the time both are working very hard to capture every special moment, sometimes the same moment from very different, equally spectacular angles! Although they capture different things, they work together to capture an overall feel to the wedding, which keeps their work consistent and collaborative.
2) Awareness and appreciation of natural light, nature, and surroundings.
Reason #2 explained:
These guys know nature! Tthey will paddle out in a canoe, climb up a ladder (even bring their own!), lay down in dirt, or do anything else it takes to capture that perfect setting. Important tip: If you are planning an outdoor wedding, be sure to work with someone who specializes in weddings taking place outdoors/in natural light, like these guys.
3) Creative and Flexible
Reason #3 explained:
Kate/Andy provided guidance on best photographic ideas/poses based on their experience, but they were open to ideas of our own. We didn't want any posed photography but some of the ones they suggested turned out excellent. They also have great ideas on backgrounds and how to be open to inclement weather - they actually made us hope our wedding day WASN'T a bright sunny day! Why? Ask them!

Visual Roots (Kate and Andy) were professional and we loved all the creative aspects of their photo shoot. The day of our wedding it rained so we didn't get to have our mountaintop wedding but they were flexible and were able to find the right spots to make our wedding photos perfect. Also, they are wonderful to work with. They were like friends/guests and added to the memorable and best day of our lives.

Kate & Andrew at Visual Roots Photography were an absolute pleasure! They were very professional, yet had a very down-to-earth, relaxed attitude that was a much needed breath of fresh air during the stress of our wedding day! They took beautiful photographs, with a mix of traditional, formal shots as well as natural, candid ones that truly captured the essence of our day. We took Kate on an adventure for our Enganment session. She was such a trooper! Crossed a freezing cold in October. The results were amazing and I would refer Kate and Andrew to anyone that was looking for a photographer!
